I work in iapt as a Hi CBT I somewhat enjoy it but echo what you said , we have targets of at least 10 clients a month , many months I can hit it easy but this month I’m struggling my mental health is taken a toll , I am in my late twenties trying to sell my flat to buy a house and trying for a baby the pressure of that alongside work is a lot for me atm

CFT is so useful - because it is one way of reconciliation Teasdale and Barnard's "Interacting Cognitive Systems". Put simply, - the "Head - Heart" problem.

Thank you such great video. Very informative and gave much insight....I am planning to study CBT and I always get surprised about the level of vacancies in the NHS.....I think I understand why now....looks like private practice is the way.

This is a very helpful video, thank you very much. With the current economical changes I thought there would be some websites comparing NHS HI therapist salary with private companies but I couldn't find any. Do you have any advice where to look at?

Hi im from the UK. I want to train to be a CBT therapist but im not sure the best way. Ive heard from some people u need further education after masters others say you dont? Could you shed some light on this please?

There's a broad range of CBT therapist out there. From Volunteer Talk therapy to Doctorate level. There's no regulations in the UK - there's lots of different accreditation's you can get - some are ok for the NHS others are not recognised by them. I've met PHD level therapist that are quite frankly useless and senior carers with a lvl 5 diploma who have god like CBT powers .. all though a lot of the academics wouldn't agree, in my experience its a personality driven career. To be a private associate or practitioner you don't need any qualifications if you market yourself as a talk therapist. Otherwise every time a friend asks for advise you would be breaking some kind of regulation. You charge for your time not the therapy...
