In my opinion, reckoning transmen and -women among LGBT community is discrimination itself... If such a person IS homosexual, then yes, but otherwise they seem not to be perceived as fully fledged men and women as they tend to be... Maybe T means only those who play with gender role and want to save their biological sex... I'm not sure in this at all, though, pardon!

Its not a sexuality so iit shouldnt be included BUT in regards to fighting for rights then yes...its awkward.

I totally agree with you Fionn. In the LGBTQ community a lot of the LGB people go on saying we must stick together as a community and look out for each other as a community but the LGB are a lot of the time very quickly & happily ready to shun the TQ from the equation. This to me baffles me. I do agree in a lot of ways that the TQ should be separated as its not so much about sexuality but gender but like you said there's not enough beef behind us to make us heard! I think you said it best... the LGBTQ* community overlooks the TQ* part and I know that is very frustrating for me. When I went to pride here in miami the closest we got to our group was a giant drag queen mob and i saw one person out in the parade with a trans flag but other than that no one was representing. one guy from the parade actually went off to the side and asked me what my flag meant- I was wearing the trans flag as a cape. and once again, no trans related merch being sold,

I suppose you can't ever possibly eliminate the risk of misgendering someone unless you use gender neutral pronouns always, until you know or ask someone their preferred pronoun. Even then, you can never be certain that someone's pronoun won't change. We can only do our best to be respectful and inclusive.
