Im soooo happy I came across your page. How well does this work with half tones? Do you have your printer set up with all black ink in all the cartridges? If you have your printer set up with all black, can you skip the last step with changing all the colors to black? I print full color DTF prints but wanting to add Screen Print by the end of the year and the color separation is whats gitting me. I would hate to pay someone every single time I get an order.

@@kimaustin5409 it works as long as your working with a high quality image. My printer does not have black ink in all cartridges but each color you seperate you will print black on transparency film so that you can burn the image to a screen. If you trying to screen print you can’t skip the last step as your going to need to a black image in order to burn it. Once the screen is burned you can then choose the color of your ink.

hey bro as far as micro registration goes does it hold up well or does it end up moving after doing so many prints? i am trying to figure out if it is better to go with a riley hopkins 300 vs a 250 6 color press. if its the same then a 250 should be fine for me but what do you suggest? thanks in advance!

I've been using this setup for a few years now. You definitely will have to tweak it every now and again if you want everything to line up. With that said, you can dial everything in to a T though so it makes everything come out perfect once it is dialed in. The only issue is that its a hassle trying to dial it in. Especially if you've never done it before.

It’s more of a magenta color.. you also have to understand I’m looking at a pre-edited screen meaning the colors are true. When this video was made it was color corrected so the colors may be slightly off.

@@newerahopefamily3837 More than slightly off. You kept on calling the same colour "pink" and "purple" (you couldn't make up your own mind). There is quite a difference between those two colours.

Adobe no longer sells its products, you have to rent from them. Another alternative is Corel Draw and no monthly fees either. If da software separates the colors you got it.

it does help to have worked at some print shop. I got the change that the guy who printed my shirts, he showed me his little operation, hamble beginnings with a small lampo from home depot, but many years later he had a 34 stations monster printer that the carrousel spins with compress air, he printed shirts for the Sal Lake City Olimpics. His first press was rusted 4 colors extremely old without registration. It is possible to get to high places when you start with the first step.

what to do if a customer sends a JPEG with 8 colors and you need to vectorize it but can only print 6 colors? Please make vid.

This can be tricky but it can be done depending on where the colors are. I have been able to successfully print colors more colors than what my press can handle because I was able to do multiple colors on one screen. Like one color on top and another on the bottom. You can use screen dividers to keep the squeegees from touching or crossing. It can be done but it depends on the design.

for some reason this seems to leave a one pixel space between colors. Am I missing something?

It depends on the quality of the image. The better the quality the better you will be able to separate the colors. Sometimes you have to tweak the settings as well to adjust how tight the line is around the colors.
