This is not realistic. This looks more of a model for illustration purposes. I do not see how this would work in a true Engineering and Design role. There are so many rules, guidelines, access, egress, spacing guidelines, layout for optimization. I do not see how I would be able to use for process piping and produce the proper deliverables need for construction.

A Plant Layout is made on rules, and assessment of risks, one can put these inputs to translate to a layout. Instead of having to build it from the elements, An application can be programmed to do that effort. Just as a designer would look up the spacing chart, the application can be fed that info to conform to that spacing during that iteration. If it cannot, it will alert to the problem. This is what is attempted. These kinds of systems will evolve. These may be the initial steps that AI will take us. I saw a similar one with AspenTech OptiPlant 3D.

A lot is achieved here, very quickly, with a standardized, in-built process/knowledge, leaving almost no scope for human errors.
