the house is almost finished now :) I just haven't had a lot of time to upload all of these. the entire structure is up, but the inside isn't livable yet. we are finishing it this month and hoping to move in end of September. we just sold our house last week so it's crunch time!

The house is much more built by now, this was Oct 30. I just haven’t had time to sort all the footage and make all the videos because of how busy it’s been building it

I hope I am not too late. Hard to tell from your video, but it looks like the wood you are casing out the windows and doors are NOT pressure treated. Anywhere that wood touches concrete or masonry products is supposed to be treated lumber. Not sure if any inspectors way out there, but standard lumber will fail prematurely when in contact with concrete. So, your doors or windows could become loose in the wall.

@@JustUsSix Wonderful, I was quite concerned that it was not. We all want our houses to be the best we can do. My father and I alone built my 3500 sq. ft. home in 1986. We did everything except the poured walls for the basement. Unfortunately I lost him 6 years ago, but how wonderful that we got to do this together. Best wishes as you move forward.

They are about 2 weeks behind what we are doing now :) And they will catch up eventually if I keep uploading daily even though we skip some days because I have business to do :) The house is more finished than in the videos, but not a lot. Tomorrow we are finishing the main floor (in this video we are building the basement).

Loving these uploads. Very interesting for me as a Brit because everything here is made of brick so I’ve never seen anything like this. Also blows my mind that you can just go ahead buy such a large piece of land and build a house and not be mega rich. That is unheard of here as we don’t have much land 😂

in the province I live in you can now get 100 acres for between 150 and 200,000, but sometimes cheaper. We bought this last year before the prices went up so it was cheaper.

Great video. I’m planning my cottage build for next summer and never considered ICF until I saw your video. What supplier did you use for the ICF? I’m in NB too.

The only supplier in the Atlantic is Bird Stairs in Moncton when it comes to Nudura. There are other brands but Nudura is supposed to be the most user friendly and also has the biggest blocks. Tomorrow we start building it (on videos, it was actually 2 weeks ago) so if you check back you can see what its like :)

We were at the bank yesterday and Joe just went off on his own and was found explaining to the bank manager how the ICF forms work and all the steps to building a house. They couldn’t believe an eight year old was telling them that 😅😅😅
