In most of these cases, the fires were pretty small and controlled. I would suggest trying it on some larger fires where the heat is already established or other components besides the liquid fuel are burning. In most cases in a vehicle fire, plastics (wires, covers, carpeting, foam) will be melting/burning as well as fuel. Try it again in a scenario like that. I personally wouldn't trust it until seeing more.

Why wouldn't you just install a FASS system and be done with it? A fass 165gph will be all the fuel you could ever need and then some. And use a bottom tank mounted sump, unlike the dual port sumps from beans diesel. The second port can be used a a fuel return, or can be used as a 'fuel line in' from an aux tank mounted in the bed of a truck, and it'll gravity feed. I get the 'DIY' side of it and doing it on the cheaply cheap. Bosch is good stuff. But this day and age of diesels, FASS fuel systems are the cats meow dude. It's cheap insurance, every diesel truck on the road weather deleted, modified or just bone stock should have one. The fitting is the finest you'll get, 1-2 microns, I like to run the bigger larger over sized CAT filters. There twice the size of the standard fass brand or WIX filters . Having a bottom tank mounted sump guaranteed no fuel slosh air bubbles getting in. You can literally run every drop of fuel in the tank down to the very last drop. A sump also makes it easy to drain the tank if ever need be! FasS also has provisions for options plug and play probe fuel heaters that thread into the block of the fass pump. It's pretty trick. It's their 'dual probe heater' kit. I've got it on my '02 24v HO 6 speed ram 2500. I deleted all the OE fuel filter housing, and everything on the side of the block, threw it all in the trash where it belongs, I even ditched the hard fuel lines along the frame rail. Everything is all 1/2" high pressure diesel fuel line. Everything comes with a FASS system you'll need. Most kits that come with a sump even come with the hole saw to buzz a hole in the bottom of the tank! Air dog, or fass they're both the same. I prefer fass, they have killer cyst service and stand behind their product. Plus there's the provisions for the optional ad don heater and some other do dads to that are optional. Just stay away from the 'raptor' brand stuff, it's junk. That Bosch pump you're using is pretty tiny compared to a FSSS setup... In the way of noise, you can't even really hear a fass running, and it's mounted in the typical location, up in the inner fender on the bed mount, with the big yellow CAT filters hanging down heh. I did adjust the bracket that mounts everything up as high as it would go, the guys that drive around with their FasS filters so low they almost dragging a speed bump is no good, all it would take is a branch, log or a rock to rip them filters off, they aren't ment to take a hit from anything lol. I had one of those broncos, it was a cherry one, was super clean to. But all the work to swap a 7.3l PS in I would have done a 12v Cummins instead. Power, torque, reliability, strength, ease of maintenance, simplicity, parts and after market options and availability. Heck even one of the earlier VE pu ped ones are bullet proof, easily and simply tuned with a couple screws. Years back I helped a buddy source a 12v Cummins VE non intercooled motor that we swaped into his huge square body suburban that was lifted prolly 10-12" on one tons, 5:13, and detroits f/r and 40" bogers. It was quite the 'war wagon' especially after a 12v Cummins swaped in lol. That motor was estimated to have 400k miles on it. And it was perfect. Needed nothing by a pressure washing, all the gaskets resealed, headstuds, a bigger turbo, we ended up intercooling it as there was all sorts of room up front on the square body for an intercooler. But the easiest cumins motors to swap in anything are the non intercooled Bosch VE rotary pump 12v's for sure . Literally a one wire motor, a 12v power to the fuel shut off solenoid. We stared off with the mech fuel pump and then eventually upgraded to a FASS 100 gph.

@@madmodifier yes and no. The original mechanical pumps lasted decades, but now the replacement pumps are failing faster than China can make them. The second reason is that it helps support future modifications for more horsepower and cleans up packaging when you are looking at intercoolers, changing your HPOP, etc. Definitely provides more fuel at a constant pressure to the rails in the heads.
