Hell is not a real place in the same way nirvana is not either. The word hell has very unluckily replaced sheol and gehenna in bible translations. Jesus warned for gehenna, not hell. Gehenna was used as a referation to the lake of fire, and was the city garbage dump. Gehenna was the place for the utterly destruction, and not immortality. Therefore the lake of fire cannot be the straight opposite. The eternal punishment is death, not eternal life in hell. Observe the punishment is eternal, not the punishing.
