"if a parametric doesn't have a bandwidth knob, it isn't a full parametric... Unless you're a salesman in a music store." That smirk of satisfaction made me lose it. And I totally get it...What a legend -- 1:01:18

The most important thing to remember about a good mix is that the business should be in the front, and the party should be in the back. The second most important thing is that you include a bunch of bullshit before you get to the good stuff. When you pan a sound from left to right in order to demonstrate, make sure it's a low frequency sound that won't appear on cheap speakers. The mix should fit the song just like the interstitials should fit your video. I don't like the way he spreads pseudoscience. Sometimes, in musical circles, rave music is mistaken for hip hop. And by sometimes, we mean never.

I love this video so much! I have laughed and smiled so many times throughout, and learned so much in such a short amount of time. Thank you so much to David and the creators of this video. Also, it's cool that at least once in the video he said "he or she" to refer to mixing engineers, which as a woman I think is really thoughtful at a time when the default gender for technical professions was male :)

Seems ironic that there is occasional clipping, distortion and high frequency hissing sibilance in the mixdown of the soundtrack of this video on the art of mixing.
