This video is exactly what I needed. I started playing chess at the beginning of this year and am up to 1700 rapid/1550 blitz on Chesscom, but I'd like to make it to the next level - I honestly think I got to this point with almost no concrete calculation except for 1-3 move patterns here and there.

If we lose some games so we lose our elo(rating) which is of fide?
@cmloristavernierАй бұрын
I don't understand the question, but let me try to answer. When you play on the FIDE ONLINE ARENA(FOA), you are getting a FOA rating. So when you lose/win, that's only the FOA rating which changes.

Did I misunderstand the video? In the beginning you say how to get an official chess title, but you continue to only show how to look up what chess title someone has, not how to get it.

You didnt say it, as an english speaker, you explained where you can find it, but not how to get it. The title of the video is misleading because it promises every player a guranteed title when probably only 1% of players have one.@@cmloristavernier

@@milanek1527 Hey, it seems like you are right but I am not completely wrong. You have to go on the Fide Online Arena (FOA) and start playing there. If you don't compete, you won't get any title. You have to play on the FOA and win :D

Me: Why do I keep blundering? Bro: Let me show you this game by Magnus Carlsen. Me: Yeah, that's not why.
@cmloristavernier5 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter that I showed you a game played by Magnus. I explained that well and I am sad for you that you stopped watching after the mention of Magnus Carlsen. In this game, Ian played some wild and crazy chess without any plan. Worse than that, he played moves which were 1 move threats, then took 50min a 1 move and kept playing senseless moves until he finally blundered something. I could show you a game played by low amateur so that you get my point easier, but the thing I was showing is the following : Either you blunder tactically, that's an easy problem to solve, you just have to do puzzles and that's it, or you blunder strategically by playing moves which are senseless and dangerous. It's hard to improve at strategy alone, that's why chess players tend to be a lot stronger in pattern recognition than in Strategy. All of this was perfectly explained in the video. Anything else ?
