Does it always leave the wood surface looking wire brushed? What if you don’t want to blast away the softer grain?
@SweetPickins
@SweetPickins 15 күн бұрын
I think that would just depend on the wood that you are using it on. My dresser was oak, so it was very hard and it didnt leave behind any texture at all, it was completely smooth. It may not work for a softer wood or you may need to light sand it after.

Thanks for posting this, so useful! Can i please ask, do you live in a dry area? I have a handheld soda blaster but it gets clogged easily, so im thinking about upgrading to something like this. But - its quite humid where i am, so wondering if changing the tool will make much difference to the clogging issue. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to everyone too, so kind ❤

Does it work on soft wood? I have a statue that need the varnish removed. Someone put the varnish on mistakenly, and I am asked to restore it. The wood is agarwood, precious and softer than wood used for furniture.

It would work on soft wood, you just may need to lightly sand it after to smooth out any fibers that lift.

Hello, Do you ever find that you need to hand sand after soda blasting or can you just oil/milk paint straight after?
@SweetPickins
@SweetPickins Ай бұрын
for what i did it for, it didnt need hand sanding after, but my wood was very hard. So i think it would just depend on what type of wood you are using it on.

My oak dresser was completely smooth, it didnt even need a sanding after. I think it will just depend on the type of wood you are working with.

I can’t seem to get this paint mixed up without lumps, then when I’m waiting for the first coat to dry .. the paint gets thicker and more lumps
@SweetPickins
@SweetPickins Ай бұрын
Milk paint doesnt have any preservatives or extenders in it, so it will thicken as it sits. I always just keep it stirred and then keep some water next to me to keep adding to it if it needs it.

Hi! This is amazing. I’ve been researching the easiest method for sanding. I’m new to restoring furniture. For this size blaster, would it be good for large projects like dressers or buffet tables? Thank you and I appreciate your advice!

Sorry but sad to see the knifes are hanged at the back of the fire place , is not very convenient when you want to use your knifes, plus they are in risk to get stains from the cooking.

Do you think it would work for driftwood, taking off any loose rotten pieces and bring out the natural wood color of the driftwood?
@SweetPickins
@SweetPickins Жыл бұрын
Im honestly not sure how it would work on driftwood since normally driftwood is pretty soft. But I think if you don’t sit in one area to long and keep the spraying pattern even, it would probably be ok.
