Upington is larger than several major cities in Europe and its municipal area twice the size of Port Elizabeth. The Anglicization of names by a seemingly Dutch lady did surprise.

What about México? 😮
@BernalilloGirl3 жыл бұрын
Yes, we've seen some amazing succulents in Mexico, in fact a couple of years ago spotted some that are native to South Africa, but have been planted and naturalized in Baja and become quite invasive.

Any large succulent places near Cape Town?
@BernalilloGirl3 жыл бұрын
Hopefully someone will chime in who knows more about this. I recall seeing succulents at 2 amazing national botanic gardens in or near CT- Kirstenbosch and Desert Karoo. As I'm sure you know the predominate veg type around CT is the Fynbos, which is just mind-blowing to me!

very cool video I stay in South Africa I did not know it is the succulent capital but wow I must say there are so many succulents where I stay I stay in a region called the eastern cape and the succulents are literally everywhere here I don't know the names but maybe a video must be made about it

There are always people not following rules in the Park. Those lions could rip off that guy's arm in a moment's notice... You are not allowed to even open your window...

WE NEED SOME HELP ..... we are going to skukuza rest camp with no car and we don't intend rent a car. Will be there daily private tours within the park besides the ones offered by tha park? I mean, should we book in advance for all days activities while in the camp or should get there and choose by proposals available ?
@BernalilloGirl5 жыл бұрын
It depends on several factors. How did you book your lodging at Skukuza? If you used an agent, then they can help you book game drives. Did you book on-line at the SANparks web site? If so, you can book game drives there. There is often a morning and evening drive available at each camp, but it would be smart to book ahead. Most people drive, and it really is fun and easy. The roads are very good, and maps are available in several languages. Have you read the "how to do Kruger" post on the Trip Advisor South Africa forum page. Excellent information there! I hope you have a wonderful time.

Wow Marcia and Alan! That was so interesting and I'd say a great adventure. I recall my many drives in Mexico, mostly to Monterrey that I found rather frightening as far as the lack of road shoulders and livestock on the road. NEVER drove at night. Thanks for this series of fascinating videos and the professionalism in creating them. Looking forward to the fourth episode. Leslie and Joseph

We used Baja Amigos in 2014 and we had a ball. More than that, the whole group regularly touches base with each other since then and often travel as a smaller group to San Carlos, Sonora south from Hermosillo. Lisa and (Capt) Dan were fine hosts and wagon masters and travelling with this group was a fun adventure. Would highly recommend it to those that like to travel and have fun.

great vid! do you remember if the gas prices inside the park were a lot more than normal?
@BernalilloGirl5 жыл бұрын
We did not notice a dramatic difference between inside and outside. We didn't buy a lot of gas due to the slow driving speeds. It seemed that our tank stayed pretty full even after several days. Would love to hear what you, or others, experience in trips now.

Nice video. The antelope at around 18.30 are greater kudu (young males), not nyala, as your commentary suggests.
