Not getting the point of controlling it like that? If you are trying to drag race are you really going to fumble with that and the clutch? If you want it on for any length of time why not just slap on a toggle switch and control it with your thumb to open it whenever you want to?

I drag raced from 1976 to date--try looking at my other videos of where i used a thumb lever to open it----also if you get to the bottom of the videos you will see it helps if you play guitar.

Another way witch can sometimes do the trick is to shut off the fuel and run the bike hard until all the fuel is gone even with the choke on this can sometimes shake the float free as there is nothing to keep it stuck up

Yes there is also a drain screw for each float bowl that should be drained before the tapping as that will help free it up also.

@@sjuozhunki nice! My co-s are still going strong but now I’ve got other issues to work through on the max. The wee short rubber rings from the bottom of the carbs to the top of the engine are perished. One seems to be jetting out air/ fuel.

Beautiful V-Max !! I have a 1984 V65 Magna I love it as well,but since 1985 the VMax has a special place in my heart ❤️ !! I remember being 15 in 1985 sat on one brand new at the Honda Yamaha shop !! Fell in love with it !!!same color as in this video 145 hp 10.33 1/4 mile with Pee Wee Gleason piloting it down the drag strip just a beast !!

This didn't work for me, had to hit it a little harder with a piece of wood and a hammer (very carefully) on top of the carb, also draining the bottom of the carb and spraying some carb cleaner in there and on top finally did the trick. For now at least. Thanks for the video.
