It's in Eb. The isntrument is in tune with itself, but the reed that it comes with is flat.

That's for the brand new Selmer model. We have a used one for $1399. We also have other brands that start at $799. Selmers are on the higher end of saxophone brands. Hope that helps!

Nobody: double reed soprano sax replacement in C It is genuinely useful though, as a saxophonist learning oboe. The fingering system I understand on oboe is for better control, but the sax fingerings are very nice 😊.

Would this be considered to be low brass or more in the horn range?
@IBoughtItMyselfАй бұрын
It’s an alto horn in Eb. French horns are in F and Bb. So pretty close to French horn.

Several symphonies have parts for them, sometimes you can interchange it with Hecklephone as well.

Thank you for actually showcasing a healthy amount of the low A!!! Its crazy how many people have showcased the low A Mk VI without playing the note that makes the instrument unique

Amazing! These are so rare. Intonation sounds a bit off to me, but that could be due to the custom reed and bocal.

Hello Kieran! I'm Stéphane from the Trio Lézard from Germany, since a couple of years we play on Metall Reed Instruments and we are always happy to see other people doing the same!! Thank you! Just a detail: In fact your Orsi Soprano is a Rothphone, not a Sarrusophone. The main difference is the Body of the Instrument, that is Double-walled on Sarrus-Sopranos and Simple on the Rothphones, this has a big inpact on the sound. I have an original Bottali Soprano and an modern Orsi Soprano like you, their sound is extremly precise, and my Soprane Sarrus' from Gautrot, Couesnon and Ramone have a much more mellow sound. There are some differences in fingerings aswell between this two Soprano, but nothing important. All the best! Greetings from Germany, Stéphane
