Man I miss this older YVR. The 747 still ruled throughout the mid 2010s. The only 747 we get now im 2024 is Lufthansa's 747-400s, which occasionally flys here.

Love that familiar banking approach into YVR, and the descent over the Spanish Banks. Love the A220 too. Looks great in AC's updated livery. Reminds me of the seating configuration in the DC-9: 2 + 3.

Interesting fact, my Mum worked for Rolls Royce in Derby in the 60's, she said the computers were so big in those days they reached the ceiling. Technology has really moved fast!

I recently got into plane spotting and i live in vancouver. The last 747 ever that lands in Vancouver came just a month ago. It was a Lufthansa 747-400 from Frankfurt. Now that i am watching this, i feel like i was missing out in lots of awesome planes :(

The Boeing 727 trijet was launched by Air Micronesia under Continental Airlines to serve the Island Hopper route beginning in mid-1968. I was fortunate to have the most incredible flight from Honolulu to Truk (now Chuuk) via the Johnston, Majuro, Kwajalein, and Pohnpei Islands in the first week of June 1968. On Truk I had the very kind and gentle Shigeto family as my gracious host. Thank you so sincerely. Also grateful to then-Senator Tosiwo Nakayama who facilitated whatever was needed for my 2-month fieldwork there. Incidentally, HE Nakayama later was elected as the first and two-term FSM president (1978-1982).

My boyfriend was many times flew the Boeing 747. He was pilot in the U.S. Navy and commerical airplanes.
