There isn't a whole lot of footage of Rosie out there. She reminds me of her aunt Anita in many ways. Thank you for sharing this.

All of the Carter Family’s songs are haunting and sound quite a bit ahead of their time-nobody else sounded like them.

How wonderful that mother Maybelle and June both sang the same song. That is family tradition, so glad to see a number of the Carter family on this list. Also Maybelle playing and singing with Sara.

As a child my Father used to visit the Carter family and play together with the Carter children and at times he listened to them singing on the front porch. As a youngster I learned many of the Carter family songs from my father. I had never heard the Carters sing them only my father. When Dad was in the army he was a part of the Hank Thompson band. All these songs I learned from my Dad I only latter heard after I had grown up. Thank you Dad Clifford Davis

Actually, Loretta Lynn came before Dolly Parton Loretta was singing in the 50s. Dolly didn’t graduate high school until 1968. She became a member of the grand Opry in 1969 Loretta became a member in 62

@@carterfamilychannel it definitely was not recorded or out in 1957. Puppylove came out in 1959 and Dolly did not become a member of the grand Opry until Jan 4 1969. Dolly graduated high school in 1964 moved to Nashville to pursue her career,. I’m sorry but I’m going on when I visited Nashville looked up in archives so Loretta was singing in touring in the 1950s and Custer Washington and Loretta became a member in 1962 so no Dolly Parton was not before Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton never even knew who Patsy Cline was so I’m going on facts she recorded it with her uncle bill owens and a reminder in a fact, Dolly Parton is the one that gave credit to Loretta Lynn and said if it wasn’t for Loretta, she wouldn’t be where she was today. I think you might want to check archives and you might want to check and Google it it’s all over the Internet 1959.

@@carterfamilychannel there’s a book out called Me and Patsy kicking up dust forwarded by Dolly Parton. Do you know what Dolly Parton said? There’s not a person in the music industry. that does not feel. like Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. blazed a trail for the rest of us. To follow those were Dolly Parton’s words so if Dolly came before Loretta, why would she say that exactly lol
