We’ve failed in your right and wronged … Forgive oh father ! We’ve failed in your right and wronged … Your intention (curse)* oh father ! Where is your robe that covers us ? …. Our tear had not drop … After the sword we raised a sickle* Our tear had not drop … Every minutes passes from you with shame .. We ask where is he ? We’ve failed in your right and wronged … Forgive oh father ! We’ve failed in your right … Your intention (curse)* is revealed … oh father ! A big, beautiful country … We divided We’ve failed in your right and expressed remorse …. A beautiful country that harboured all, Had we listened to the voice of the loved one … the country had not been lost, Had we listened to the voice of the loved one … the country had not been lost, Nor would we have asked for NATO, We’ve failed in your right and wronged … Forgive oh father ! We’ve failed in your right and wronged … Forgive oh father ! ==================================================================== (Vocals) 02:45 Who has taken you to this situation ? A few months ago you used to be at: home, in peace, rich and the petroleum in your hands. The petrol has now stopped, your lives have stopped, the projects have ground to a halt, Who has taken you to this situation ? Why ? These criminal gangs formed by imperialism, these traitors in order to bring colonialism, we exile and impoverish our citizens. They’ve emptied it of its citizens, Who has put our women into this situation ? Attack the assailants … Attack the assailants ==================================================================== Where are you ? … If you converse us …. With the abundance of the world in desire, Oh how time has revolved around us … Who will care for us ? … Who can fill your void ? Whom ? Where are you ? … If you visit us …. The feeling of sorrow and confusion, It’s been revealed onto us .. We’ve felt it .. Your intention (curse) … The intention of the oppressed, Who is capable of silencing us today .. We’ve failed in your right and wronged … Forgive oh father ! Appendix : * After the sword we raised a sickle: Common Libyan saying : after glory we raised disgrace. * Intention: An individual has been cursed with the intention of the person (karma equivalent). 121 Reply

Ah, John Bell Hood. What a catastrophe for the South. Apparently, this song was popular both in the North and South during the Civil War. It is largely free of racial or revisionist associations at this point.

This song is in really bad taste. I mean, considering the genocides and all. I'm not sure at all why it would have been recorded in the modern age.

This is actually an anthem for the Namibian Germans that still live there, its still played today by that group of people. Yes, the Herero genocide was horrible and we must not forget it but this song itself is light hearted

Have to recommend the book “The Greatest Fake News of All Time: Leopold II, the Genius and Builder King of Lumumba” by Marcel Yabili It was written by a Congolese lawyer who debunks many of the myths about the Belgian Congo.
