Young living has one called Christmas spirit that I diffuse all year long because everyone loves it! But other than that some of my favorites are orange, peppermint, lemon, geranium, vanilla, grapefruit, clove, pine… etc!

I might do a scrapbook eventually but for now I’m just storing everything in those scrapbook boxes! My mom made us scrapbooks for our high school graduation so that could be a fun idea!

Ideally 1 nap 2-3 hours long but it depends how early he wakes up. If he has an early wake up he usually ends up taking 2 naps. I wish we could get on a consistent wake up time! Sounds like she might be ready to drop a nap? It’s so tough when they’re fighting bed time and you’re exhausted!

@ awww ok! I’m not sure because she only will take 40 minute naps if she takes 1 nap ….. and that’s not long enough… I’m kind of stuck lol! I’m not sure what else to do!

How long is her first wake window of the day? I usually go off of taking Cara babies and I think she recommends 3-4 hours for this age. I feel like Liam started taking better naps when I worked on stretching his wake windows! But maybe you’re already doing that 🙂 it’s tricky!!

You asked in a recent video about holiday traditions that we have. I didn’t do this, but my coworker did and I’m planning to implement it when my 7 month old gets bigger… every year her husband would take all of the kids to an activity for a few hours and she would put out all of the Christmas decor and turn the outside lights on. When the kids got home in the evening the house would be all lit up and decorated. The family would have a cozy dinner, bake cookies and decorate their tree with a Christmas movie in the background. It just sounds like such a special memory, so we’re definitely starting that!

Someone suggested giving them a short cat nap if they need another one in the afternoon so if I feel like Liam needs one I’ll go on a drive and let him sleep for 15 min or so in the car and that seems to help without pushing bedtime back too far!

When my son was ready to drop his second nap, he was awake chatting throughout the night for hours on end. We did a transition to one nap. I would allow him to have a cat nap of 10 mins if needed in the morning around 9 in order for him to be able to stay awake until his actual mid day nap. This was a transition between 11-14 months I want to say. I’ve then had to reduce the amount of time he slept during the day because he would chat away again. So as he ages, him waking and chatting/playing is usually my sign to reduce the amount of daytime sleep. He’s now 26 months and I wake him at the 2h window if he is still asleep otherwise he’ll be up during the night. Unless he is sick, then I let him sleep longer. It’s definitely a trial and error situation! As for tidying up, I do it as it happens lol since my son was a baby I made sure we always cleaned up after playing. If we were starting a new activity or going to eat, sleep.. whatever the case, I always cleaned up with him. So now he’s automatically cleaning up when he’s done with his toys. I help him because I play with him, but he’s very good with that so it’s always tidy.

These are such great tips! Good to know some signs to look for when it’s time to go from 2 to 1 nap. I love how you taught him to clean up with you. I’m going to start that with my babe!

My baby Is still on 2 naps. Just turned 13 months. We usually do a nap around 9ish and I cut it short to about an hour. And then another nap around 1:20 and that’s about an hour and 30 minutes. I noticed that we can’t do nap after 3:30 pm and the naps have to be atleast 2 1/2 hours total throughout day otherwise nighttime is rough!! It’s very hard to figure out naps because I feel like they will be transitioning to 1 super soon!

It sounds like we are on a similar schedule but I have been letting him sleep for 1.5 hours each nap. That’s kind of when he naturally wakes on his own. Maybe I need to try waking him sooner.
