Joe Scandrett is trying to get you killed, stop doing poles and take a long break. Keep being a positive figure in the sport, dont injure yourself beyond this, not worth it.

Man it’s therapeutic hearing your stories, I’m coming up on a year with a foot injury that’s taken me from running, hiking, climbing, skiing… it feels like I’ve lost who I used to be. Your will to keep pushing to recover gives me hope that one day I’ll get back to living life, your message is truly helping people.

Dom's perseverance is a testament to how durable the human body is. We truly live in a world of all possibility. What we once thought was impossible eventually becomes possible. Doctor's telling us we only have a few years to live. Yet those people live 30 years longer than the doctor's prediction. The power of consciousness; don't underestimate it.

When you constantly up the level ; more 'never been done', more dangerous stunts, higher, more impressive, etc. Then at some point you will cross that thin line. Dont be an adrenaline junky. Or be, if thats a conscious choice and that is what you truly want. But id rather see you a long time. Its inevitable if you keep trying to push the boundary that at some point you will hit a boundary lol. You are good at falling, plus you are lucky. But take all of this as a chance the universe gives you, a warning. You cannot be lucky forever. Tone it down a little.

As someone who has been running and free running for 55 years, I wanted to share my thoughts on the impact of age, even before seeing your latest video. Now at 68, and with a titanium hip, I've returned to running every day. Sooner or later, you may need to scale back on the jumping routines and accept the inevitable passage of time, which brings about around a 0.8% loss of strength per year. As the poem ‘Desiderata’ advises: 'Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Cheers!

I slipped on the ice outside my doorstep, broke my arm right below the shoulder and damaged my knee. Trying to save the slip, I accelerated it. 8 months in and I'm still f.. up. I'd much rather see Dom try some indoor stuff, Ninja challenges. Stay safe

It sucks that parkour can be so dangerous. Slams like that are why I wont go anywhere with it. I have speed, precision, some skill and some bravery, but not like this. No one wants to see easy small stuff that everyone else can do. So you gotta go bigger or more tech. I prefer big but I'm not willing to take a hit like this one. Plus I certainly am not able to bounce back like I did with skateboarding as a teen years ago. Oh well, I can always just watch others push the limits! Glad your arm took the hit and not your face, yikes.

DOM .. I'm well into my 50's now. I only played some soccer (football) when I was ten years old. I played hard like most of us Gen-Xers did. Jumping off things. Jumping our bikes. Break Dancing etc .... But I've never done ANYTHING ... not even close to what you do (wouldn't have been able to anyway) and myself and some friends included are all experiencing mild to debilitating back and joint problems. Aging is a blessing, but it's no joke. You do start to lose some "game" in your 30's. You seem to have had a Super great run my friend. Hang it up now while you still have your facilities. Mentor up and comers. Retire as a legend in your sport. You have nothing left to prove. Good luck to you.

Hey Dom. So sorry to hear about your grave injury but you're a cat with way more than nine lives who's avoided some really 'grave' injuries 😊. So please slow down, listen to your body, heal properly and use all your immense Parkour wisdom to play safer in the future because you're a living legend who's got nothing left to prove to the world (the problem being you have too much to prove to yourself :) But please take care and focus on inspiring the new generation who look up to you as their mentor. Love you, Dom ❤

You can see when Dom's hurt his first instinct is to reassure everyone ELSE that he's okay. It's a bit like that when you're the hurt one, you're the only one that can defuse everyone's anxiety about it, and the fact he immediately does it is a sign of an absolutely top bloke.

Quote from a famous wingsuit athlete, that I think applies to your situation… When you first start out, you have 2 jars. One is full of beads, and it represents luck. The other jar is empty and represents skill. As you progress, with each gnarly thing you get away with, you take a bead out of the luck jar and put it in the skill jar. Over the course of your career, you end up with a ton of skill ( full jar of beads ), but your luck jar has run empty.
