Imagine someone saying these words today, lol. Well my brother said he saw you in a downtown bar with a price tag on your head and a black man on your arm. C'mon sister, I ain't quite as dumb as I seem. I'd rather see you dead with a rope 'round your neck, or see you paralyzed in both your thighs.

The first and best wee Glasgow band I was lead singer in back in the 1970s, performed 2 tracks from this excellent album - the rather raunchy The Ball Trap and Pretty Flamingo. The band decided to join the emerging Punk movement around 1977 and I hated this type of so-called music, so we split and they moved down to London to try for the big time. I visited them in August 1978 at their place in Garratt Lane east London and joined them onstage at "Big" Nosher's pub where they played every week. Nosher was the very tall and broad ex-boxer turned actor, who played bit parts in the weekly Avengers TV series and many other shows. That night we performed Jailhouse Rock, that went down a storm and had the many punters packed in there pounding on the tables and shouting for more at the end of the song and also The Ball Trap. This song was unknown to most of them listening to it, but I can still clearly remember 2 well dressed young guys dancing to it just in front of the stage, big smiles on their faces and obviously really enjoying it. Song ended and moderate applause, except for these two who were shouting for more. Years later when recalling that particular night, our bass player Stuart, told me the guys had approached him afterwards, said they were Rod Stewart fans and this was THE best version they'd heard of the song. They then bought him a pint...lol

Ok, a friend of mine opened up for the Faces in the early ‘70’s … he said they went to the after concert party … Rod was totally passed out, leaning against a wall in the corner of the room! Lol, this is ‘rock n roll’!
