Could make her completely invisible. My guess is the see-through is done with mirrors? Incredible craftmanship.

It has nice elements and touches, like using the measuring tape as proof for no other supports. I like the unique design of the illusion, too. It makes it look impromptu.

the up close gave up the trick, i knew it's the same old thing but it's very clever ! (in fact i needed that close up to give away the real way) but i think there is one little detail i miss for the transition...

The presentation of the magic needs some work. He needs to get something from the top shelf but all of sudden he's doing some wood working then they're going to stand on top of it but he's teaching you some physics or something. And the music is really annoying to top it off.

Your comment deserves to be voted up. The parent's is way overrated. Of course magic is best viewed live, but it is short-sighted of the magic community to want to be so exclusive and guarded. It's ironic that Steinmeyer himself said "Magicians are guarding an empty safe." He was talking about secrets but it's all the same. The more performances online, the more theatre tickets will be sold. The more secrets online, the more newcomers to the craft. We need more Steinmeyers not fewer.

Indeed it isn't a video trick. I am constantly amazed at the breadth of Jim Steinmeyer's creativity in illusion design. His book "Hiding the Elephant", which chronicles the history of the great illusionists since Robert Houdin, has a chapter missing - the one about Jim Steinmeyer! And Andrew - you did a really great job here.

This trick is incredibly simple. The method is over 100 years old.
@uncawizard12 жыл бұрын
First time I saw it I was blown away & hadn't a clue. But, I've got an idea of the method cuz I'm a Steinmeyer fan, and cuz I could see it over & over. There may be some tiny flaws, but it's darned near perfect. This would be best live. With video you can repeat & look for things. But anyone seeing this one time onstage would be completely amazed, I'm sure. It just does not look possible with all the moving behind and the light and all. This is one of the best "divided damsels" I've ever seen.

Great Job with this Andrew!! This is how you become great trying new things! I think this would fool an audience right now the way it is but keep routining it.
@pk26pk2612 жыл бұрын
You too? I do know how it's done, and it's a testament to the great ideas of Jim Steinmeyer. Nevertheless, no one and nothing his perfect. If you did know it's quite complicated and elaborate, far more than I expected. Andrew did a great job considering all that. It's hard to achieve perfection based on the instructions and details, and Andrew comes pretty close to that. And no, not everyone sees just Sarantakos and his "tricks" and no one else. So please, no need to resort to vitriol here.
@NerdsiLuv12 жыл бұрын
nzcarnage you're an idiot.. this is not a video trick.. this can be done LIVE.. fairly close up... and without the aid of video cameras. I think it's a brilliant illusion.. you're too used to seeing the crap the Criss Angel does with video tricks... Andrew Evans is a REAL performer.. he can do miracles without camera tricks~

Amazing the magician proved you that he was she was in the table by shining a light. So if she did the table, how is she in the table? Explain that because he already proved that she wasn’t.

@Joker72729 Must you be so rude? He/she is pointing out something I just now noticed too; that doesn't take away from the fact this is an outstanding illusion! You always seek perfection in carrying out the trick, and Andrew comes pretty close to doing so. I would love to perform it, or at least witness it close-up. I don't think there's a way to leave forth comments in a manner that the public-at-large doesn't read, but without reasoned critiquing one might not be successful. Great job Andrew!
@pk26pk2613 жыл бұрын
@TobyShorin Yes, but very few people are able to see a show in person. Only the big-name acts do great tricks like these, and they're based in Vegas, Branson, L.A., etc. Even when they travel, they never go to out-of the-way towns. For those who only get to see common tricks like Zig-Zag, Twister, etc., the Internet is the only medium where you can find it and enjoy. Kudos to Andrew for this brilliant illusion, though we'd like to see it with the assistant climbing in and emerging from the box.

Not really
@TobyShorin13 жыл бұрын
This is truly one of the best tricks I have ever seen. I wish that you would reserve for actual shows though. Mayhaps it detracts from the magic to have it available on the internets.
