Dirt needs to be cleared from your trees to show the flair of the trunk.
@dirttherapygardens14462 ай бұрын
@@jammosu6498 it doesn't show on film but the dirt line is at the same height as it was before around the trunks. The dirt is higher further away as we had a big slope before. I pulled the old dirt out below the original tree dirt line then we added back to the line with better dirt.
@jammosu64982 ай бұрын
@@dirttherapygardens1446 I think it was still too high. I couldn’t see the flair

Just curious why you didn’t remove all the grass? Would worry that it will grow thru eventually🤷♂️

I’m in Eastern Nebraska zone 5b-6a. We were recently moved to 6a however I am still planting like I am in zone 5b.

Don't pile up too much soil against the trunk or on top of the roots or you can suffocate your tree. I know this from experience. Nice plant selection!
@dirttherapygardens14462 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing!Not sure if we edited it out, but I did remove some of the dirt at the base of the trees that had weeds and then used some of the new dirt to bring back the soil line to avoid any issues. Other trees on the property we planted high so we could add layers of compost and mulch.

I’m wondering if it’s just to much water on it like water meldew I have some & I notice they don’t seem to like being watered from their leaves it didn’t start doing that until I did that I think they like water from the route their one of my favorite flowers wish that u could relocate or even had gave them to a nebor, I just trimmed all the white off & I knew going in that they weren’t going to bloom for me this year so I didn’t stress over them I’m just focusing on the other ones in my garden
@dirttherapygardens14462 ай бұрын
@@kaybeauty2134 for some reason in my area, it is a common thing to have powdery mildew on our peonies. We get a lot of rain, heat and humidity which just makes them look terrible by mid summer. These ones are not watered overhead except for rain so unfortunately it is just our climate that causes it.

great video - thank you!! by the way, would like to know how you manage the rock border and weeds/grassing coming in the flower area. that is exactly what I did, and I love my rocks, but it has been work to maintain. Keep up the great work!
@dirttherapygardens14462 ай бұрын
Hi! Thank you! I did 2 things: I created a small trench first and then I overlapped the cardboard under the rocks when I built the flower bed using the no dig method! I have had some grass creep in but very little after creating the bed 2 years ago. This small section doesn’t grow grass there so I didn’t have to trench it this time, just cardboard!
