What I love about Dirty Mac is they do one of the coolest performances of all time with "Yer Blues" and probably the worst of all time with "Whole lot of Yoko". I'm sure it's Lennon just taking the piss I love it 😀

As terrible as this is, The Great Gig in the Sky still happened, and it's one of the great moments in all rock. The difference is Clare Torry could sing. Lot of people saying just screaming is where this went wrong should go refresh their memory of that song.

Except The Great Gig in the Sky was actually sung in key and wasn’t just mindless screaming.

I personally don't believe that she broke up the Beatles. But she was and still is an entitled elitist with no talent. John was no better, but he did have talent.
@rupert-j8fАй бұрын
i think the beatles break up was a number of things. they just werent getting on with each other anymore and had a few arguments and fights. the problemw as they had grown up, they werent these kids fom liverpool having a laugh anymore they had marriages and responsibilities when they did their last album.
@billpaul6675Ай бұрын
Yoko didn't break up The Beatles, they just grew up. We change a lot between age 20 and age 30, and The Beatles were no different. Paul wanted to continue writing pop music. John got into music as art. George embraced Indian music. And Ringo's first solo album, Sentimental Journey, was a collection of pre-WWI covers. Much as we didn't want to admit it at the time, The Beatles just grew up. Shame on them! 😮

John told us that we didn't appreciate Yoko because she was a genius. I was almost 20 when this happened. If it was satire it was genius. If it was serious, I'm sorry that after nearly 60 years an instrumental by some of the top names was ruined by someone screaming in pain.
@j.c9855 ай бұрын
They knew exactly what they were doing and what they were signing up for. This isn’t the only thing Yoko did in her career, she has released several albums of melodic songs which demonstrate her vocal ability. “A Story” and “Season of Glass” for example. She is a genius.

Thank you for posting. This is Yoko's first pop music stage performance (she had previously appeared in Fluxus performance art, & had just released Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins with John before this December 1968 concert). Thrilled to see it.

Jesus! I can't help but feel this was a joke on the audience as well as a backhanded slap to Yoko, - to show that ppl will applaud any idiot that makes a cacophony out of their mouth, as long as they are accompanied by other musicians that are well respected and greatly admired! Personally, I feel she made a complete Fwit out of herself, and (aside from Yoko) they all had a great laugh at everyone else' expense.... (cause no - one would dare behave to the contrary)
