What did you do about the hangers? And also is 2" the factory size? I thought factory size was 2.25" I'm hoping I can just get some pipe from autozone and clamp them on.
@AlaskanCharlie3 жыл бұрын
I think it was actually 1 7/8 because the 2" I used was just a hair big and had to fill in a little gap with weld. As for the hangers I just ended up welding a rod with a 90 degree turn to use the existing hangers and then welded the other end to the pipe. I think its 2.25 before the Y then it necked down to 1 7/8 I think. The gap worked to my advantage though because when I cut the mufflers off they did not point strait back, so I used the "slop" to get the pipes angled how I wanted then welded them in place filling the gap with weld.

What do I need to buy for my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix base model to sound like this????
@AlaskanCharlie3 жыл бұрын
You should have the 3.8L as well. All I did was cut the two mufflers off and welded a piece of 2” pipe in place of each muffler. I then ran two 3.5” wide, and around 8” ( or so ) long exhaust tips. I wanted to run 3.5” wide and 18” long but couldn’t find any local at the time when I did this so I went with the shorter tips. Despite what people may say running a longer wide tip gives a “trumpeting” type effect which can make it sound a little deeper.

The information is in some of the other videos, but I just replaced the factory muffler with a Duel in/duel out Flowmaster Original 40 series muffler. It is still the factory duel in, duel out 3" pipe configuration that Y's into the factory 3.5" tail pipe with a 5" "Diesel" exhaust tip. The duel in/duel out and then Y into a single tip is the factory design for the 2500HD up until at least the 2007 "classic" model. If you have a 1500 it will have a different factory exhaust. Eventually I would like to run true duels, but up here in Alaska I am looking at about $700 for just the duels, not including the mufflers if I take it to a local shop.

Hi, is the factory tailpipe tip also 3.5"? Did you notice a difference in sound after stepping up to a 5"?
@AlaskanCharlie4 жыл бұрын
Darryn Lockwood On the 2006 2500HD with the 6.0L the factory tailpipe is 3.5”. They run duel 3” from the exhaust manifolds to the muffler, then duel out of the muffler that Y’s into the factory 3.5” tailpipe. Adding the 5” tip makes it sound a little deeper in person. It’s not drastic but in person it was definitely noticeable. I think if I had gone with duels out the back with 18” long tips that were 4” or 5” it would have sounded a litttle deeper. We tested this on my buddies 98 Dodge Ram that had a muffler delete done and it was actually shocking the difference in sound the tips alone made. He had 2.5” pipes that went into 4” wide and 18” long exhaust tips.

So far the only muffler Flowmaster has made that I would consider other than the Original 40 series might be the 10 series. How ever I just love the tone the Original 40 makes. AllAlaskan907 The Original 40 is definitely their best product. I like the Super 10 as well but it sacrifices that sweet hollow sound a little more for the extra volume. Thanks bro! I cant get my tank to stay in the blue zone which is 40 to 60. That is pretty low for a tropical lizard. Is a water dragon semi or full tropical? My water dragens in the passed did their best at 80% i have a 20 gallon tank and had a double set bulb case for my blue tailed lizards which they recommended 25 but the blue tailed lizards love baskening in the 50 on the ground on top of that it barely keeps their tank at 75 also its a 20 gallon tank im going back in fourth sorry about that im trying to find a humidifier cheap and quickly. The pet store prices are rediculas and they arent special. I have seen some off wish for 10 bucks. Anyways, your guy is still real little. He will eventually hit his mouth on the tank when he is older. Maybe not if you are lucky. I had one that did and i had to find a quick heeling method which is dangerous to do with out research but i did and my method worked and i made sure to read up on the items first. If it ever happens i suggest cleaning ur hands of course and getting the Neosporin with no pain killer medication in it! It has to be the original ointment (not cream) and a little bit of peroxide with a qtip, water bottle, and hand paper towel. First clean his mouth with the spray bottle, then dip the qtip in peroxide and slightly run it across the infected area/wound area, then let it sit for a bit like 30 seconds, then make sure you have your towel ready to dap him clean bec i rinse the peroxide off. I then use the other side of the qtip to put Neosporin on the wound. Peroxide eats the skin and kills the germs this is why i naturalize it with water after it kills the germs. I think that is really the only way to even use peroxide on a water dragon which i thought was nuts but it works!!! Just advis... i dont even know how old this video is.... how is he/ she doing? I just got one the same size and he came with a mouth sore! I didnt notice bec i was looking at his shedding! Im getting reeady to treat him/ her now. @Iamadrummer7 жыл бұрын
did you end up with the sump? An update would be nice. Too tell you the truth a 55 gallon is too small for Oscars because they are too skinny. The bare minimum is actually a 75 gallon tank since it is wider. I know I am commenting years late but.... what you could of done was keep the bio-wheel filter and add a canister filter rated for 100+ gallons. In the canister I would use lots of bio media as well as Chemipure, and filter floss. In the bio-wheel filter I would use carbon, floss, and have plants in it (lucky bamboo works great for this and does not need much light). In my Oscar tank I got long stem Lucky Bamboo so the leaves are above water. I put the Lucky Bamboo across the back of my tank except where I have a bio-wheel filter and hoses for the 2 canister filters I am using. My tank is 150 gallons since my Oscars outgrew the 55 they were in. one canister I have mostly all bio-media with a filter pad on top. The other canister has mostly floss and a couple packets of Chemipure. The bio-wheel filter has carbon/floss cartridges as well as floss. I do 20% water changes once a week. I also change the floss in the bio-wheel filter after the water change. The carbon/floss cartriges I change every 2 weeks. The canister filter with mostly floss, I change the floss once a month. The Chemipure I replace every other month. The mostly bio-media canister filter gets most of the bio-media rinsed with aquarium water once every 6 months, and the filter pad gets rinsed(I only need to replace the pad every other year). Your Oscars would also benifit from ornaments they can swim around and hide in. Yes this means big ornaments and probably a bigger tank than a 56 gallon to hold it all and give the Oscars swimming room. I have large Plastic tree stumps in my tank. Please give an update as to what you ended up doing.
