Ironically my exact boat is in being repaired. Final finishing touches pretty much have replaced all components, carburetor, starter, alternator, batteries, now having new “ Solenoids” left and right to control silent choice they’ve been stuck in closed position and the mechanical fuel pump powered by the water impeller system all being replaced too. Has its own oil reservoir for that system and I guess all of the years my late brother owned it he never knew the oil should be changed regularly. New custom cockpit cover, trailer re-done lights/wiring/hub bearings/ brakes/new wooden carpet wrapped bunks (that was a pain in the butt. I have to build a new sundeck / engine cover as the wood rotted out where the wide piano hinge goes. Then new upholsterty on that and entire back seat. I’ve got more into it now than bank value but was my brothers pride and joy that passed away last Summer. Boat sat 3 years covered up outside with 50 gallons of gas in it that went bad. $680 pump and disposal fee for marina to remove and dispose of the gas. Been a labor of love. The fuel pump thing was Sporadic, sometimes boat would run fine such as 5600 RPM’s at full speed and then next time out couldn’t get it over 3000 RPM’s Being held back. It took two marine mechanics with fuel pressure testing gauges etc to go out and run it on the water. One driving one running the tests. I’m not mechanical at all, or I should say I don’t want to be. At 57 years old I’ve had trouble changing the spark plugs twice on it squeezing down into the hole on both sides. Anywho, your boat looks great and mine is getting there. Live in N. IL on the Rock River so season at an end. I had a brand new 1996 Celebrity 186 open now with a 5.7 in it for 18 years. Kids grew up on it. I blew the engine at 2600 engine hours. Great boat for those years. I love the lines of celebrities.
