Great demonstration! The Wyoming wind adds an additional challenge. Where were you in Wyoming, exactly?

I love the presentation: very focused and proving that you don’t have to wait for a windless day to get out there. Also not cluttered with the usual blah blah blah ad nauseam. Thank you.

It is very distracting to seeing what is happening because of the background noise...wind?

Turn ur volume down and put captions. Watch twice, one where u look at the captions and painting process, the other where u only look at the painting process

I am so excited about this show and will definitely go see it! There is room for improvement with this video, though.

I have all John's demos on old VHS tapes, oil and acrylics, from years ago when he did hours on painting feathers and fur, many great animals, and all other details for his type of wildlife in their natural environment and habitats paintings. Invaluable, and a treasure today, for the wildlife artist that I was at the time! Now I do oil landscapes en plein air but the basics of good painting practice, composition, focal point etc., that I learned from him, do not change from subject to subject or medium to medium. I still consider my more "tightly" painted wildlife work the best of my paintings, done in the 80's and 90's, though my painting style is now more impressionistic.

Bateman is totally over-rated, and not that great of an artist. That amateur study he does in this video just proves it. There's many, many artists who can paint and draw circles around him. He is great at selling his stuff in supermarkets and shopping malls, that's for sure.

Love Bob Bateman. I took his last master class. He is such a sweetheart as well as a phenomenal thinker. Amazing talent and great person. His wife was just as sweet. I got to give him a shoulder rub after his demo!!

Those chatty women in the back rows (blue shirt, dark hair with her hand over her mouth) IF THEY REALIZED WHO IS STANDING THERE SHOWING THEM HOW HE PAINTS.......THEY WOULD BE SITTING AND NOT SAYING A WORD...Bob IS MAGNIFICENT......lIke Danny De Vito, I worked on "Hoffa" with him as a star/director and when Danny speaks.......YOU COULDN'T HEAR 1 WORD FROM 1 CREW MEMBER BECAUSE when a genius speaks you listen...

I am very glad that I learned how to draw; it really is the basis of all other art media. So every artistic person must learn to draw first. And furthermore, drawing is a medium that stands on its own.

you know Robert I think you're right about noticing I believe you are a blade of grass in the sun all what you been talking about over the years just hard to get used to this new generation because the new generation doesn't think what we didn't make it so I'm glad you're speaking out about this problem

Art may not save lives, but it may open eyes--as you say, Robert, it is so important to be aware of where we are and what we are thinking about. Art helps us do that--thank you , Robert!

I am both a studio artist and a plein air painter. When I can handle the weather conditions I choose plein air 9 times out of 10! I've enjoyed getting the new Plein Air Magazine and their weekly newsletters. My one request would be for additional artist opportunities to listed from more areas of the country. Right now there doesn't seem to be a great deal of opportunites listed for the Midwestern part of the country. Diane Overmyer
