Thank you Father, I have been seeking away to be more useful in God's kingdom and deciding a whether or not I want to convert to Catholicism... It was suggested that I use the iBreviary to learn how to pray. I grew up Baptist several times through my life I have thought about converting. Not sure where God is leading me but thank you for the instruction I will try to do these prayers as I seek answers and wait upon God

This app same as Laudate is soo uncomfortable and annoying to use with messy and too colorful backgrounds 😮😢 and no other alternatives. Look’s like English speaking Catholics don’t pray much 😮 Unfortunately still no decent English language iOS app for Liturgy or hours without internet connection and dark mode. Why can’t they make same as ePrex Spanish language app? So far ePrex works great, got resent updates and now there’s a great dark mode, simple interface, no internet connection or any downloads needed ❤ I asked them to add English language they said it’s not possible. 😢

Im not religion but I agree what catholic priest said about this problem. I dont realy name of it familyshield, so technicaly when you grow up it is nothing wrong with this kind of video. Father it’s 2024I just found a better way of praying. You have made this so easy thank you father. The app is really good because it’s helping me understand the liturgy of the hours actually using the book. thank you father don’t stop doing what you’re doing. Paul is not a credible person to take your religion from. The gospels were not written by eye witnesses. DYOR. Pray for guidance and truth. Consider reading a Quran and hear the last revelation from God. Don't worship the Creation, worship the Creator! Peace be with you "father".

Fr. Jim’s explanation of the LotH has started me to recite the Morning and Evening prayers. I understand what to do at the crosses which look like plus signs but what do the other crosses and asterisks mean throughout the prayer? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless.

Dear Fr. Jim, I cannot thank you enough!! I have been praying the Morning and Evening prayers for quite some time, but using a different APP. When a group of us decided to have a Holy Hour (for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus), I put it together and sent it to our deacon for review. Needless to say, he uses the Breviary, so the prayers did not match! I tried using the Breviary app, but didn't know what to do with the hyperlinks, felt lost, and just returned to the "tried-and-true" one I had been using. We just had another Holy Hour this week and I had an opportunity to have a conversation with our deacon. He graciously offered to not only teach me how to pray using the book, but also offered to give me the copy he used when he was in Diaconate formation! My wife and I pray the Rosary together every night. I am hoping (now that I am learning!) to emulate our deacon and his wife and include praying the Night Prayer together as they do! Thank you again for such a thorough - and simplified - explanation!! God bless you! 🙏

When l pull out my phone in the church I'm always sure the people behind me are thinking , " why is he on his phone ? "

it was hard to follow because I could not pull up the same date as you had. what is a stope? in the antiphon what are the Asterix for ? after the responary there was no Gospel on my breviary. I downloaded the same one you have.

Great video! thank you so much for the demo. Like many of the other comments I have much confusion when using the Christian Prayer book. It gets to the point where I'm thinking about the sequence more than the prayer which is very disheartening. I watched many videos to try to understand it but this is the best I've seen. I am not a fan of praying with my phone because it feels like an idol and is easy to get distracted from, but I can use the app to get myself more confident and then switch over to the book again.

Beautiful presentation BUT take the time and make the effort to actually learn to use the Breviary. You can start with the one-volume "Christian Prayer" but learn to use the actual breviary. Get hold of "Discovering Prayer" by Seth Murray. It is a readily available and free pdf. The screen is fine when you are not at home, but during times when you can be home and have some private time, learn to use the physical book!
