Thanks for the video… Our thermostat stopped showing anything on the screen a few months ago … I noticed it had a battery compartment so I added some. The outside drain was clogged as well because the safe T float switch pipe. Sucked out all the backed up water and then the batteries worked. Fast forward to today … the drain pipe was clogged again but the thermostat was showing a display but it wouldn’t kick on. So I’m wondering if the thermostat is going out

Thank you so much for this video! My A/C went out- while it's 100* of course- and I tested my thermostat before someone could come out to replace the A/C unit, and this was actually the problem!! You're a lifesaver!

So he did that without shutting down the breaker and didn’t get shocked??

Thanks for this! I changed my thermostat during the winter (it was definitely bad) but when I switched to AC today I got fan but no AC. Following your lead I discovered that the Yellow wire was broken (no doubt the result of my prior installation). I was able to strip the yellow back far enough to get get a good connection, and now I have AC!! Yay!

If your thermostat is bad and your AC goes on when you connect the R and Y wire, can’t you just keep them together so I can turn on the AC?

hey chris, you didn't mention it, if I test for a bad tsat according to your vid, do i have to replace the entire tsat unit including the backing plate or just the face???????
@mml12245 жыл бұрын
good vid i subscribed....chris....i manually turn the fan on alot during summer days, 4 years old carrier so low miles...today...i lowered the air to 75 from 78, fan set to auto this time, but the 'cool' WORD on honeywell just blinked nothing, no blower came on...i eventually went inthe attic and turn the power off for 30 seconds...and turned it back on...cycled off,heating, cool...left it alone, set it to 75, and finally came on............wats my issue? thanks!

can i leave the wires alone and use some thing else to test my fan? R & G wires....like a jumper or paper clip?
@hal65624 жыл бұрын
Using a paperclip is way more dangerous than just using the cables.
