Yoko is jumping too much making her very unbalanced. I cant understand why they do this in WKF since it only leads to poorer performance. Look at old JKA masters or even Bruce Lee, they dont jump since it pointless, totally useless waste of energy and balance.

Thank you for posting! I'm sorry but was is there a draw? England won the first match, The Second was a Draw and Czech Won the last. And why was the second match a Draw? Eng was leading with a Wazari but He had stepped outside (Jogai) 3 times, right? So, isn't the Czech supposed to win? I didn't understand that
@KaratedoFocus2 ай бұрын
Hey Isaac, That was a bit of a complicated match. 1st round: England wins by ippon. 2nd round: became a draw due to all penalties England got... That's possible according to the rules, but can be argued, since they had a point. Last stepping out was after time, didn't count (that would have been an ippon win to Czech Republic though). 3rd round: Czech Republic wins with a waza ari Summary England: 1 win, Czech Republic 1 win, in a situation like this the ippon wins count more, therefore England is the Champion.
@beatrizlacerda46622 ай бұрын
Hi Isaac, yes he stepped out but he still had scored a wazari. Overall England won because a win by ippon is worth more than a win by wazari

@@beatrizlacerda4662 Hi, thank you for the answer. Isn't it an automatic loss if someone step out 3x? And Was there an Ippon?
@beatrizlacerda46622 ай бұрын
@@Isaac_Shamir If jogai hansoku is given yes that leads to disqualification. However, the main judge only gave 2 jogai warnings (and 2 muboubi warnings). As for the ippon, it was scored by England in the first match (with the jodan kick). So in this case the main referee decided to take that into account and award victory to England

What's the point in being in JKA fighting as WKF?
@KaratedoFocus2 ай бұрын
Hey Isaac, thanks for your comment - well, there are fighting styles suit more to our ideal image of karate, and styles that suit less. The end of the day it's a competition, the one understanding and applying the rules best, the one with the higher technical skills and the one with the stronger spirit wins the match. Whether it's ippon shobu or WKF.
@Isaac_Shamir2 ай бұрын
@@KaratedoFocus I agree that in the end of the day that's only a competition however the Japanese Shobu have a very important identity for the world of Karate and for many Karatekas it stands as the very opposite of what Olympic WKF matches represent. JKA and WKF are totally different, it's not only about scoring points, because every amateur sport is about scoring points, the philosophy is different, the fundamentals, the whole thing is so different.

To block a kick you need to combine both hands. In order to have flexible waist for this your front leg should be in the air. In Karate they teach only deep rooted stances with the feet wide apart from each other and this is a mistake. They are afraid to leave the ground.

You never see a defensive front leg kick against these simple one-two combos, flinch,turn their head , and get hit. Reverse punch again and again. Throw a front leg kick to stop that attack then follow up!

At that time the shotokan made us believe in a single shot. This is why they put the rules in place on the sidelines. Today we realize that everything is false. Fortunately, full contact karate (for example kyokushinkai) saves the honor of karate
@TiagoPortas5 ай бұрын
What are you talking about? Todome Waza is legit, we see it happen in MMA, just like Mc Greggor did against Jose Aldo amd many other fighters, specially the ones that have Karate background. Shotokan is about distancing management, timing and power.
@edpone860025 күн бұрын
@@TiagoPortas Yup, Kyokushin has no punching to the face either. The guys just stand in the pocket pounding each other in the mid section and then someone wheel kicks you. Do that MMA and you will get taken down in 2 seconds. Shotokan movement is actually good. Machida already proved it a decade ago.
