Sounds like living on the lake in park rapids in a way here in mn. Visited sdc in branson and want to visit the amusement park they are building in the ozark lake. The ozarks in a thunder storm was magical, the beauty of living in those areas does have its pros and cons but as a nature lover I'd be comfortable living there.

I agree 100%. When I took a vacation there a little over a year ago, I noticed the people. Everyone was nice. Not a single negative interaction the entire time I was in the area.

I moved to the Ozarks (Southern Missouri) 6 years ago. It was a mistake. Missouri's homestead exemption (the liability protection portion) is only $15,000. Incredibly low, almost nonexistent. In Texas, I never had to worry about losing my home as the result of a vehicle accident, personal injury liability, etc. as the homestead exemption (liability protection part) is 100% of your home's value in essentially all cases. Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, etc., the same as Texas, 100% liability protection. I have had several people ask me about moving to Missouri from other states and I quickly told them to stay where they were (one was from Texas and 2 from Iowa). I explained they could sleep well at night knowing they were MUCH more protected against losing their homes in their present states than they would be if they moved to Missouri.

I have family in Roach. It's so close to Camdenton and Osage Beach. After living in Chicago it seems really easy to live there. Just have to check out the safety status of the home we found on the lake. Inexpensive but beautiful. Oh and I found out that the family actually worked on that home that's available 😂

I think it's time for me to think about who I'm going to choose to be my real estate agent. I don't want to take any of your time up at this point but I'm hoping in the next few weeks I will be in search of a new home. I love the Ozarks, I've been vacationing there for over 50 yrs and am going to retire there shortly. BUT, you really do have to know how to deal insects (tics) and mold.

Scott, I really like how you come across on your channel. I hope you are at least getting some good leases for your business. Best of luck growing your subscribers. If you ever decide to try some different things… you may try a top down message approach. This will be starting with the main message and then follow with 3 underpinnings, then maybe 3 video snippets of the area. Not many do this. And we don’t have enough to me to dribble thru many video podcasts searching for one or two main takeaways. It seems that a 5 min video from top down message would be fresh. But, I do like some of the “chatting” as well. Perhaps you do a chatty one and follow with some subset shorter re-snippet videos that are 5 min max each. The. You get rifle shots and shotgun blasts. At least you come across so well and likable and approachable… you will always win with any style. Keep it up.

Lived on the lake in the 1980's and it was great. Most locals know that the "tourists" as a miner inconvenience for several months a year. Plus they line the pockets of the local. Ever place has its advantages and disadvantages...deal with it

I’m shopping for a LF home. How do I compare house prices when some have really awesome docks others don’t. Some have location. Some have lot size and some have more lake frontage. I’ve been comparing price per sqft, but that doesn’t take everything into consideration.

I'm an Uber and Lyft driver living in Springfield Missouri. Is there a need for rideshare drivers there? Do the big national restaurants close in the winter or just the local ones? Where is the biggest demand for rides?

Can you really get a house on the lake for 500k? Or was that scenario just an example? I've only been there once but i didn't see any single family homes lakeside that looked like than less than $1m.
