Sounds a bit overkill but.... I went into the blender source code and copied the code for making a cube, brought that into blender as text, then I broke apart the text Into different objects and converted them into meshes and used them as a particle system on the cube.

Hey, I need some serious help please haha. I followed the tutorial but I have realised that this effect might only be possible with procedural textures. Is it true or is there a way to also get the effect on products with let's say some put on labels?
@RIOTGEAR3D

It would make your life easier if the labels are textures on the product mesh rather than separate meshes..if I'm getting your question correctly.

@@RIOTGEAR3D Thank, I already got the answer from your comment section haha. I was just wondering how you kept the UVs for the textures and animations different. I have used blender for almost 6 months now but never have I heard that you can have 2 separate UVs on the same object which blew my mind. Did some research on it and it fixed my problem perfectly.

I found a fix for your problem. With the sun selected got to object properties and under Relations set the pass index to 1. In the compositor add an ID mask node before the sun flare filter. Set to 1. No when you click on the sun flare an X will appear. (Mine was off screen but setting low values for the horizontal and vertical brought it in). You can now grab the X with your mouse and position it where you want. You can also keyframe the Horizontal and Vertical values in the compositor.
@Robelo2
@Robelo2 Жыл бұрын
Can you please elaborate what you mean by 'adding an ID mask node before the sun flare filter'? Do you mean sun beams, cause there is two of them. I tried with both, but I cannot seem to see any X appearing sadly. :(

This is a bit of a weird question but 6:17 how do you rotate the branches and how did you select the vertices of the branch without selecting the whole thing

Hover over your preferred branch and hit L to select all vertices linked to the target vertex.

To rotate them, I set the pivot point to 3d cursor and place the 3d cursor at the point of branching, I can then rotate the selected branch around the root of the branch... I hope that made sense

Damn, the beginning is really nice cinematography. The way a sliver of light overexposes and then fades away to reveal the scene in a span shot. I think it’s common in movies too, just a few days ago watched one with a similar opening shot. Also modeling your desk setup in blender was probably a great investment (I’m assuming you reused it from the Cube video), as I imagine any random idea you get while sitting at your desk you can eventually make lol. Btw I wonder if you also make the audio yourself?
@RIOTGEAR3D
@RIOTGEAR3D Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the massive compliment. Also yes, modelling my setup is paying off very well, you'll probably be seeing it a lot in future videos. And it will also probably evolve over time. I don't do the sound design myself, i'm fortunate enough to work closely with a friend of mine who is an incredible sound engineer.
