Right before he said “when your dead who gives a sh-“ is actually amazing Reason if you don’t get it: Beetle juice is dead, and he said jibberesh (idk how to spell it) but right after he said when your dead who gives a sh-t, reminder he’s dead, pretty cool!

I think this may be my favourite performance by Ramin. Like, jesus. The raw and violent anger, the screams, the violent physical impulses and then the restraint, that he will always display perfectly throughout his journey as Phantom but here, it's as if it's just less polished, like he's experimenting, living through it only, idk. he's always brilliant but here he really hits a nail through my heart. the gentleness, the way he reaches to cover his face when she kisses him at the end, it's just... what a gift to musical theatre, to theatre as a whole. what a truthful, raw performance where he truly became the character. even in low video and audio quality he made me hold my breath watching this. he's brilliant.

George Hearn really has the feeling that he's lost his mind during this song, which is what this song needs. This is Sweeney's breaking point, his descent into madness. if you're not SCREAMING during this song, you need a good reason to characterisation-wise. Some people say Len is better, but I really don't think he is at all. Especially the "Alright, you sir, how about a shave?" section. He's just saying the lines. It's boring, it's uninteresting, I as a listener do not feel threatened when that's what Sweeney is supposed to be doing. Len himself doesn't even feel interested in the song when delivering the lines.

As a theater kid, you can hear exactly where he forgets, and you can feel exactly when he thinks of something different to do and it’s honestly just nice knowing Broadway actors mess up too

George Hearn is untouchable. To both scream with rage and sing so beautifully within Epiphany is a minor miracle. His articulation also stands alone. George Hearn was magnificent in the role.

I can´t help, but Johnny Depps version is one of my favorites alongside with the original Len Cariou. You don´t have to compare an actor who sang for the first time ever in a movie to a trained musical singer. Of course it´s completely different in style and vocal abilities. But that´s not the point. What makes Johnny Depps performance so outstanding for me is this certain kind of feeling he puts into the song. It feels so real and he has something special in his voice. Furthermore I really like his voice in general, I think it´s pleasant to listen to, either singing or speaking. And just as a reminder: the composer Sondheim actually gave permission to Johnny Depp singing the parts himself, because he also thought it fits the musical. His raw singing and kind of imperfection is what it makes it so perfect for the movie.
