It was my dream to do this hunt in Colorado, so in 2021 I did. I was out for 12 days and never saw an Elk or even heard one. I moved several times and no matter where I went, I never had any action. I saw Moose everyday but 3 and actually almost got charged by two of them. So my elk dream was short lived and now I'll probably never get the chance at a Colorado Public Land Elk.

hey Scott. really I love it!! The only negative I have to say is I’ve now broke the zipper twice, but I think that’s my doing getting everything too tight and then the zipper suffers. But the simplicity of setting it up, the design, the quality, has all been outstanding.

Great looking ram. I just had my NM barbary sheep hunt this past weekend and was blessed enough to harvest a 31.5" ram. One of the best feelings in the world. There is nothing like a public land fair chase hunt that you have to work for and not buy. Congrats on the ram.

there is no “launch out of” on the lake. the entire lake is surrounded by public land. so I park as close to where I want to fish, as possible.

Great job tracking and staying with it. Really great bull . Don’t beat yourself up it’s learning experiences and you came out successful this time. If a hunter says that they never made any mistakes they haven’t hunted very long. I have made mistakes like that right when I made a shot knowing I shouldn’t have. Once was on a spike whitetail. I could have easily said it was just a spike but it bothered to the point I had to keep looking and wound up finding him. Great video. Keep it up.👍

Some people are not so sold on themself that they that they hunt for the meat and not the one that have to brag about their horns/antlers .Some people are old and enjoy just being out with each other. A small buck taste as good as a large buck. See you settled for a small buck after what you said about passing up something on the first day that you would take on the last day. I used to be able to use mouth diaphragms for calling, but lost all of my teeth in an IED explosion in Iraq in 09, and it sucks with implants too try and figure out how to call with my phelps tube, nothing worse then sounding like another hunter versus another elk

Trent I have to ask, what is the spool for on your right shoulder? Just your call string or something else? Also, I just bought an action camera, with all extras stuff….. can you give me any advice for which filming accessory I should use, shoulder, hat ect… I already know from watching all your videos that I first need to turn it On 😁, second need to let it focus if I’m holding it…. But where is it best to film when I’m by myself… which is always…… one last note, keep up the great videos and I see your son has your same laugh, and I’m sure he’ll have your humor and hunting skills as well! Good luck this season! Ret. Seabee Rob

Retired Rob! yes…turning on the camera is the first step! I personally like the head strap more than anything. The chest and shoulder strap shows too much of my hands or the side of my head for my liking. I’ve tried them all and like the head strap! The thing on my shoulder is a “frankenstud sling keeper”. it’s for a rifle sling but works great for bugle sling!
