My brother joined the Odd Fellows lodge. They took his membership fee and he never heard from them again, he never was invited to a lodge meeting and never met another lodge member and never even saw the inside of the lodge he joined.

I am an Orange Man, Royal Arch Purple man, Sir Knight of the Royal Black Institutuon and an Apprentice Boy. These are Protestant Orders. I confer all the degrees in the first 3 Orders(The Apprentice Boys has no degree system) I am seriously interested in joining the Oddfellows but there are no lodges in Northern Ireland where I live. My nearest one is in Scotland AND not all UK Oddfellows are still fraternal orders with degrees regalia etc. This is the reason why I would be interested in joining. Also, I don't drink alcohol. I do know that some Fraternal Orders eg the RAOB meet in public houses and are centred around having a drink. In other words, I wonder if a teetotal person like myself would FIT IN in the Oddfellows? I am an Anglican Christian so I do have a religious faith which I BELIEVE is a qualification for joining.
