We did a similar tour on our trip in 2020, right before the world shut down. That coastline is absolutely gorgeous! Snorkeling under the ancient cliffs out there was an amazing experience 😊
@amyreneeadventures4 күн бұрын
Were there decent reefs closer to the cliffs? Were you near a beach? They dropped us in the middle of the ocean just to cool off. Our tour chose to keep going to the end of the coastline. Plus it was a bit choppy so vis prob wasn’t great.
@nationalparksprincess32164 күн бұрын
@amyreneeadventures I can't recall the exact spot, but it was under the cliffs. There was a tie off under the water for the boat to anchor to. Honestly, it was kinda terrifying for a bit. We had just we looking for tiger shark spotted in the area. Then, when we couldn't find it, they took us over to the cliffs and said, "Jump in." It took me a while to get out there, and then I had to use the noodle 😆 because I couldn't concentrate just floating out there. Still, I did take time to float and stare up at the cliffs, and that was peaceful.

Wife and I did it in our mid-30s. It was nowhere nearly as crowded as now. The cables had maybe 6 other people on them. Started at 5AM and returned almost exactly at 5PM. We were very fit and still beat at the end. Would never do it again. Half Dome actually looks way better from the Valley not from the top.

I always appreciate and love the postings of Half Dome. It makes people or we at least hope that you need to do your research on any mountain . Most people posting aren't in half dome climbing shape. I'm sorry. Your exhausted before getting to Half Dome then that's your cue not to do it and people telling you ahhh,you almost made it. Should have finished. Stop!!. They wouldn't have made it

You seem like a very nice person. I’m very glad you didn’t try to go all the way to the top.
Just curious, did you do any kind of homework on what it takes to climb Half Dome. Just getting to Nevada Falls is a bear. Nice try but if you want a better hike try either North Dome, or maybe Cathedral rock. Those two hikes are much shorter but still give a good exercise and a rewarding view at the end.

The heavy breathing is so irritating. Next time get in shape prior to the hike or let the person who is actually fit video it. The breathing is gross.

@@maliakeliinoi9986 lol thanks for the hate! I have asthma and the forest fires exacerbated it. Combine that with the fact that I live in Florida at zero elevation, so that affected me too. But hey, I still pushed thru. Hope you find a less “gross” video that serves you better 🤣
