honestly, sleep paralysis is so fucking scary to me. I had a reoccurring sleep paralysis "dream" (I don't know if you call it a dream, because I'm awake when it happens) where this tall shadowy figure who looks like they're made of black slimy needles, but wearing a pale puppet mask and a messy brown wig, (I named it Eugene) would stand above me, twirling my hair in its knife-fingers, while humming to me in a pitched down voice, but the hum sounded more like a sob, and after a while of standing above me, humming and playing with my hair, it would slash my throat with its knife fingers and I'd "wake up" (again, I'm already awake, so I don't know what you'd call snapping out of sleep paralysis) I'm on some pretty potent sleeping medication, so I experience sleep paralysis and sleep paralysis demons a lot, and while that particular demon only shows up every now and then when it does show up, it's the most tense few seconds ever. also worth noting, I have severe bipolar depression, so I experience these types of hallucinations constantly, and due to these hallucinations, my life often feels like it takes place in Skinamarink, because I don't know what's real or in my head, and everything feels hazy like, it would be welcoming and familiar if it weren't for the shadow people and thousands of whispers swirling around my head. My first ever experience with a screamer was at the age of 10 on Newgrounds... and it's also lost forever. It was called "Delete Numa Dance Bros" and I believe it was advertised as a parody of the "Numa Numa Dance", which was still popular at the time (this was circa 2005 or something). I remember the icon was a black and white photo of a kid looking at the camera with his mouth open either like he was lip-syncing or screaming. When I hit "play" it was just text on a slowly scrolling background of the Newgrounds Portal with what I believe were other Numa Dance parodies while slow, ethereal music was playing in the background. I don't remember what the text was saying... I vaguely recall it talking about how the meme got popular and that this submission was meant to be a "joke". Then it faded to a white screen with black text saying something like "All fans of the Numa Dance, please..." and then the word "beware" faded in and slowly moved up to the end of the sentence, pausing for a while... ...then it abruptly cut to a shocking green-tinted image of a monstrous face with looping audio of a shrill scream followed by a gasp/sob ("AAAAAAAAAH!!! HHH-HHGHHH... AAAAAAAAAH!!! HHH-HHGHHH..."). The creature in the image looked like a female human with black hair, small eyes ringed in black, a large smile with sharp teeth, and angry devilish eyebrows. I remember when it came on screen I instinctively looked away, then looked back to fully take the image in. It was stuck on that image with the looping screaming and gasping. I put a hand up to shield my eyes from the picture and click the red X button in the corner. But from between my fingers I still caught a glimpse of one of its demonic eyes staring back at me before I exited out of the submission. I didn't cry, scream, or freak out. I just sat there in shock. The face of that evil smiling woman was seared into my memory since then, and for a small while every time I saw the word "beware" written in a book or something, it would trigger the memory of that image.
