I won this random 7" single on hook-a-duck at Alton Towers in about 1981. Good memories playing this on my Dad's record player as a 9yr old 😊

RIP Bob. That man genuinely altered the course of my life. I saw him play with Steeleye on Dec 3rd 1974 and on Dec 6th 1974 I took all my money out of my post office savings and bought my first guitar.

I've seen so many things I really didn't care to see I've been a thousand miles away and not a soul that cared for me I've heard some real bad songs And I'm sure that's sad and lonesome for you while I was gone So sing me a happy song Let your guitar ring and baby, sing me back home Let me just sing along Cause I've got that same rock n' roll feelin' on Raging in my bones I like your music Hey, won't you let me stay here with you all night long? I like your music And I still think you're as good as any Rolling Stone So turn me on with some of your good music And sing me one more song I tried to do so many things I didn't want to do And I felt countless love affairs and threw them all, I thought of you And I've been gone too long At times I thought I'd never get back here where I belong So sing me a happy song Let your guitar ring and baby, sing me back home Let me just sing along Cause I've got that same rock n' roll feelin' on It's raging in my bones I like your music Hey, won't you let me stay here with you all night long? I like your music And I still think you're as good as any Rolling Stone So turn me on with some of your good music And sing me one more song...

The band Union were closer to BTO than the band currently touring and billing themselves as BTO (namely, Randy Bachman, his son Tal, and some members of Randy Bachman's band). Fred Turner's voice is sorely missing! ⚙️🇨🇦

Ian has forgotten he has written this song, which is a shame because it is one of his best and a very precise nailing (so to speak) of a certain type of sexuality in Britain.

There were many great records out there over the years but a lot of them never got marketed right very little airplay and this was a singer from the Sixties, if it had been used in film or she had a big tour going on or the record company had pushed the single it could have done better. Most people would never of heard of it before and i don't think she did anything else or though i met one of Delrons at a car boot sale sometime later.
