@@prchjrk Heh, sister tug would be more correct, but those two boats sure catch a lot of fish. I noticed you went into low gear when fighting the fish, did it help? I usually stay in high gear with WSB, but will go into low gear with tuna. Still, back on topic, I never have ben in a bite that was that wide open. I hope to one day, it's always more fun to get limits quickly and move on to rockfish or whatever.
@prchjrk2 жыл бұрын
@@Briguy1027 I used to go into low gear only when I get a sizable tuna or 'tail in a circle. The older I get, the sooner I go into low; even these over grown Tom Cod.
@Briguy10272 жыл бұрын
@@prchjrk LOL, I just went today and the WSB seemed to give up after a quick run, so didn't need low gear on 30 pound test. We didn't get limits but there was one point at around 8 am where a big school came through and everyone with a bait in the water got slammed by 20-35 pound WSB. First time I've ever seen a wide open bite. Unfortunately, it didn't last. This was on the Endeavor out at Santa Rosa Island overnight.

I retired from being a deckhand in 2005. I remember all the great fishing trips to Catalina and San Clemente we had. The deckhands deserve a good tip at the end of the day. It was a long hour low pay job, staying up all night to get squid. we all do it for the love and trying to support a family. Amazing video. Hopefully in the near future, I’ll get back in to fishing.

Nice trip. I’m a regular on the Tac. Most people committing don’t understand what the Tac and crew are about. We had seabass limits on 6/27/19 and were done for the day at 9am. Sea bass limits...when’s the last time fishermen had that. All that ride the Tac are like family. So when you knock the crap out of them we all are happy and head in. And on the slower days we run all over looking for bass limits. It’s a very special opportunity to be a regular on that boats. It’s been booked solid since the 80’s.

Great that ya'll got limits of WSB, but why does a 2-day trip headed home early? IMO, when you sign up for a sport-boat, you're paying for time on the water. There are tons of other fish beside WSB. Could have stopped to drop for some reds or anything else. Does not smell like my type of sport-boat. Grats anyways!
@prchjrk5 жыл бұрын
...with 2 day limits of WSB, 5 Calicos, 1 yellow and assorted misc. I was satisfied. The others weren't complaining. The Island Tak probably isn't your type of sport-boat; no galley, no fish hold. All that said, he doesn't seem to have a problem getting bookings.
@mitchlesh39135 жыл бұрын
Everyone was pooped, if you were on the trip I am sure your arms would be sore! We finished up Limits in the early A.M. hours & had no more room left on the boat. Besides we pretty much all had our individual bag limits, no need to take any more.
@MrJesus1003 жыл бұрын
We had limits of seabass, few yellows, 40 or so bass and probably another 100 mixed rockfish white fish and sheepshead. After cutting all the fish the first day then the early a.m. fish we had no room left in our ice chests to keep the fillets cold for the long run home. We thought about staying and fishing for more yellows since they were around but that’s when we realized why when we can’t properly take care of the fillets with no where to put them. And if that’s still not your type of sportboat that puts the customer and proper fish care first then idk what your looking for in a sportboat. I worked that trip and many on that boat for 3 years with Fuqua and it was one of the best around with an amazing client groups that have been there for a long time some as long as 30 years. This two day was the best two day we have ever had and it was a blast

@chriswilliams65685 жыл бұрын
Frances Lim Princess guarantees their prices, if you find the exact same excursion for cheaper they will refund I believe. So dont forget too, that if you tour independently and it misses the ship, you are stranded. With a cruise line tour the ship will wait. Plus, if the ship cancels a port last minute due to weather or safety measures, you will lose your money if booked separately.

The red crabs were attracted by the lights while we were anchored for the night and were netted by the crew member who had the night watch. We used them the next day for bait when we went rockfishing. They worked, but not as well as the squid.
