@@BillyMartinChannel ok thanks Billy cuz people forget most of the leads on that album were done by you, I think the only song Benji did lead on the young & hopeless was the title track, good morning revival he did the lead on I think 3 tracks I wanna say two of them were singles keep your hand off my girl & dance floor anthem. And idk about the chronicles of life and death.

I always tell anyone that will listen that this album has some of the best guitar/drum/bass tones. It’s huge. I love how that record sounds and I wish I knew what amps (assuming mesa boogie) they used to track it

Thank you! Back then I was using a Mesa Dual Rec and Benji was playing through a Soldano rig. So its a combo of those two!

I remember my freshman year of high school during Covid (yes I’m a younger kid, I’m 19) I remember in class watching this stream when it first aired. I was such a music nerd and I’d been playing electric guitar all my life. I remember going home and learning the whole album front to back from this video. 4 years go by and I walk into a Sam ash before they closed, and I spot a Billy Martin signature PRS on the hook and I almost cried Istg. In freshman year I wanted one of those guitars so badly, I remember looking on eBay and reverb constantly for a deal on one with no luck. And then suddenly I walk into my local Sam ash and there it is on the rack. I bought that guitar and without a doubt out of the many other instruments in my collection, it’s my favorite. Thank you Billy for being one of my biggest musical and artistic inspirations, your awesome, big love from NJ 💚⚰️🦇🧛

Yo Billy! Crazy thing I recently got to realize. You actually shouldn’t be having any gain up on the UAD preamps while using amp simps. That’s like putting a tube screamer in front of the amp. Turn the gain all the way down and then use the amp simp input to bring the signal to a healthy level. Just like you’d do with a real amp. There’s a whole math science behind every amp simp out there and how much preamped the signal should be on your interface channel before hitting the amp simp, but every manufacturer has different specs for this to get the most articulate sound representation of how the manufacturer originally designed the amp simp to sound in accordance with the real amp reference, so don’t quote me on that any further lol. I know it sounds like it won’t make much difference but it actually does sound and feel tighter.
