Hi, I just checked and I am playing without any mods on version 2.4.0, which is the latest version I believe. What mercenaries did you get? Longbow hunters are crucial, and I would advise to buy one stronger infantry unit as well, just to make the fight a bit easier (we got lucky with the wolf warriors, but other will suffice as well). Try to use the missile units on their wodanaz spears and ideally hit them from behind or the side. It is also very important to use the javelins of the infantry units, those will do a lot of damage. Final tip is to use the spear levy to be your frontline and try to flank and charges with your club levy, they will do a lot of damage but cannot hold very long. You could also try and flank/charge with the general with headhunt, that will also do a lot of damage, but you need to make sure you will not get the general stuck for the risk of loosing him. Hope this helps, let me know if you succeed!

If it still does not work out after the tips, I could try and make another video were I will go into more depth about the tactics in this fight. I can Make another run and save the replay to explain a bit better what I am doing and which tactics I use to make sure you will win the fight. A lot of these principles are important for the rest of the Suebi campaign as well. Let me know if you would be interested in that!

Maybe im doing something wrong or just dont play good enough. You dont have to play it again. I will just try more. The start of the Suebi Campaign is really hard but i would love to play it through with them too.

Hi, No worries. I am sure you will be able to get through it! Just so you know, I just have uploaded a guide on the Suebi to get through the early game with them. Here I take another approach, which is a little bit easier. You could check it out and maybe it will help you to get through the early game with them. Definitely worth it once you get through the early game, they are a really fun faction!

Hee, I just wanted to let you know that I cannot make it for the campaign :(. Unfortunate the limited time I have for KZbin/gaming is spend already, because I also have a full time job besides this. I have 2 series going on and a third coming, since I want to finish those before doing something else, I cannot free up time for this campaign. It does sounds really interesting and maybe later in the future, when I have more time available, we will be able to fight each other in such a campaign setting :). No I haven't. I did play vanilla Rome Total War: Remastered, really got that nostalgic feeling of when I first played Rome Total War when I was a kid. Is it any good?

@@TotalWarGamingTWG I haven't played RTR: Imperium Surrectum because now I have 3 kids, so when I come home from work tired, I want to sit back in the chair and watch others play, but I played the old version of RTW: Roma Surrectum II a long time ago. Mod RTR: Imperium Surrectum is literally a completely different game and contains the largest map in TW history with 1808 cities and regions total. Total of 54 playable and 50 unplayable factions with unique UI and banners. The mod itself is based on the historical accuracy of that time. The mod is made in a way to activate certain historical events within the game such as revolutions, barbarian migrations, political intrigues in which your generals participate who can advance in the senate by getting all possible historical titles in order with missions that unlock certain titles that give bonuses through the traits of the general himself . Basically, the mod has a lot more than what I wrote to you, so I recommend that you learn more about the mod itself on the Total War Center forum, because the mod has its own way of playing, that is, there are instructions on how to play the mod, because some buildings can only be built if you meet certain parameters, certain historical legions can be recruited if you meet the required parameters, etc. As a fan of historical accuracy and as much realism as possible in games, I can say that this mod is actually TW Rome 3.

Yeah that sounds really interesting! I will definitely check it out. Always amazes me what the mod community is able to do with the games :). For now I will focus on the 2 campaigns I have going on, but maybe when one of them is finished I could look into this mod.

On another note, what do you think about the upcoming naming contest for the son of our king in this campaign? Friday we will hold a contest and the winner gets to name the son of the king. Do you like such features for engagement or are you not really a fan due to possibility of the names not being historically accurate?

​@@TotalWarGamingTWG Personally, that way of interaction is not for me, but it is certainly interesting for younger viewers who want to communicate and want to participate in the campaign. I don't know if you want to become a pro youtuber, but I would still give you a little advice to write 3 hashtags in the description of the video (not in the title of the video), for example: #totalwarrome2 #totalwarrome2campaign #strategygames, that way people looking for total war videos will find it easier to your channel.

Haha :). Tomorrow another Suebi episode will release and Thursday Episode 4 of the Lycia campaign will launch. This weekend we will also launch a special Lycia episode, which will include rewards! So that's something to look forward to! :)

@@TotalWarGamingTWG you need to churn out videos more often if you wanna grow, watch the other channels, even daily is not good enough, channels i follow that grew well get a video out every 8-12 hours

@Parastas You are probably right! I will try my best to upload more videos, but unfortunately it is difficult to fit it into my time schedule. I will always upload at least 3 videos per week. I will just make them for the viewers I have now and hope to build a fun community with each other. Hopefully that will still bring in more people, albeit not at the rate of other channels :)
