Beware of investing or buying anything in Scotland or the UK. A friend & her husband, both US citizens and working as Hospital executives in the US, moved to Scotland, where they invested BIG money, time & energy in getting a hospital on its feet there. They bought a valuable home, put tons of $$$ into it, and then were told they had to leave the country. So beware of exactly what the laws are. How long g u. A stay, can u have dual citizenship? If buying a historical property, as my friend did, what are the laws? Both my fiend & her spouse were highly educated professionals, so I don’t know why the UK or Scotland cruelty pulled the rug out from under them, but it did.

I’m not Scottish and I’m not wealthy but if I were, this would be THE place to purchase. Such an amazing property. Owning such a large piece of the country with a majestic castle. Spectacular.

I can just imagine the annual cost to maintain the estate as well as what the taxes would be….not for the faint of heart….lol Another question….Not that I could ever afford such a treasure, but does the sale price include all the furnishings and art? Thank You for the tour of such an exquisite estate. Might make for a great Bed and Breakfast…..lol 👍🏻🍻🥂😁

So, something to consider is the taxes are done differently in Scotland. Many of the taxes are paid upfront with a purchase, and there are fewer ongoing annual taxes. The upkeep is certainly a cost, but the farm and the leases from the outbuildings also provide income, so there is a balance struck between the income and the expenses. That said, most people who can afford to buy a $32MM asset don't sweat the monthly expenses as much. As far as the furnishings and the art, anything could be offered but I don't think they intend to sell it with the furnishings or art. And, unfortunately for many people dreaming in the comments, it is already under offer. Check the channel soon for another castle video which is a bit more affordable! (All is relative, of course!)

I would agree that some of the elements in the property are nice and I would say art in their own right. But $4M for a apartment I will never understand that.

It's all beautiful but who would want to live there? You would have to be super rich to just maintain the properties. I'd much perfer a small cottage with a vegetable garden in the back yar.
