I guess you're paying that price to live in Brooklyn heights instead of Crown heights. Lol, is 'floating moulding' real estate agent speak for a gap in the wall/floor?

I would love it if you showed the whole damn house. You showed us 2 bedrooms, I full bath, and I half bath? For 12mil. How do you expect people to know if they are interested if you don't show the entire thing? Smdh.
@philipwellsrealestate3 сағат бұрын
Sorry Kady, some portions of the house were off limits and can only be seen during private showings. I showed you as much as I could and I hope you got a good “flavor” of the house but I hear you and it is noted for the future.

How many wee crofts were on this estate at one time, before the sheep became profitable for many who mainly lived in England, and were filthy rich already? Why is it a big boast to fish 10 salmon, a red deer stag in full velvet, and grouse, capercaillie etc, just for fun? No care that these creatures have as much right to life as the rich man killing them? By all means make it a great hotel projecting to the future, and leave the "Highland Dress", guns and rods in the past, where they were likely badly needed for food! Englishmen and Americans know nothing of our history or way of life, so to me does not make any sense at all!

Why the heck did we start on the roof? That is the POV of a cat burglar or Batman. . .discovering the house after entering from the roof? ? ? Who's idea was that? That confused me.
@philipwellsrealestate4 сағат бұрын
Hahaha! I just loved that top floor and couldn't wait to get up there and show it off. I do not confess to being a cat burglar.
Happy Holidays Philip , such a lovely property steeped in history , with some modern touches and very peaceful and quiet .maybe one day I could move to New York , always been a dream of mine .

Happy Holidays Rosemary! Glad you enjoyed the property -- it is a really special house. I'd love to show you around if you visit, and help you find a place if you move here of course :)

I answered this in a few other comments, but the quick answer is that it's pretty safe, built on volcanic rock that doesn't erode very much at all. I linked to some studies on it.

This is great I live the fact that they kept as much of the original parts as possible rather than renovating inside to look like any other hotel, taking the experience and authentic feel to be inside a castle

Very bad design and waste of the volume . In the living room you nearly bang your head because of the staircase and suddenly it is 8 meters high ceiling . Looks like the lobby of an hotel .

Views of new jersey? blech. i want dynamic views of midtown and south to the freedom tower. angels on central park and sunrise-sunset. the master was the real disappointment here. the great living room faces the wrong direction.

PH88D has those -- we toured it, but I was more taken with the western views of the Hudson and the horizon, and yes, NJ which I know hit a nerve! Same price for PH88D

I’d love to know how much it cost to connect the lighthouse to the power grid. In the USA, it can be $50k for running a cable only 100 feet. That lighthouse looks 1,000x more challenging.

That’s a great question. I can ask the owner. They did invest significantly in upgrades!

Have seen the building. Very nice. Ceilings are a bit low by today's standards. Good location. With that the balcony railings were glass. The wine storage display is impractical for two reasons, light on the bottles and two, will come crashing down in an earthquake. A lot of designers in California FAIL to put this into consideration. It's been a while since the last large quake near the cities but they will learn again.
@philipwellsrealestate2 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Yes, the ceilings certainly aren't soaring, but the views help with making the space feel airy and open. The victorian house we shot in San Francisco had a ton of seismic upgrades -- did you see that video?

Are Irish people short?? Or youre just that tall??
@philipwellsrealestate10 күн бұрын
I'm on the taller side, but I think people 200 years ago were quite a bit shorter than we are now. A quick google shows we've collectively gotten about 10cm taller in the last 100 years -- I had trouble finding data older than that.
