Great presentation....we are working on v3.3.1.14 and basic interface remains same. Really helpful for quick liquefaction assessment. CPTs are the present and the future (class apart if we use seismic CPT!)...

Hello Sir, thank you for a good video. I have question, how can find CPT data records. I need a deep CPT record. I appreciate if you can help me.

I am trying to study for my PE exam. The CRR calculation based on Fr to find CPT but I have not found many good question examples or references for help. This is somewhat helpful. Hopefully they won’t ask about this but you never know. I am studying everything. Determination of CRR seems easier with known SPT data

Note: 33-37 mins; adding in vane shear data to correct plot constant and U0 from added dissipation tests. 42-45mins start geotechnical layer analysis and statistics for soil parameters determination.

I have a project where a cpt was conducted on the existing ground. However there will be bulk fill on top of the site of approx 2m. This effectively increases the confining stress of the underlying soils. However Ksigma when calculated causes the FOS to decrease. This is illogical, obviously higher confing stress results in a higher resistance to liquefaction. Any ideas?
@peterrobertson9686

You need to add the fill and adjust how the CSR is calculated under the new total and effective stresses. The Ksigma factor has a minor role compared to the updated stresses

I too found that annoying. You can open two tabs with this video: turn the volume off in the one you're going to watch and the other, which you'll use to listen, advance about 40s

Super interesting video. Quick question. The settlement calculated is for a site alone, no building over it. If there would be a building over it, settlement would be a lot greater?

Thank you very much for sharing. I had a couple of questions, regarding the calibration of the CPTu data and the Nk parameter: What is the correct way to determine it? Any recommendations on the appropiate procedure? What should we be aware of, and take special care while performing the calibration?

Has anyone else noticed that the video seems to speed up from 33:57 to 48:20 making the audio mostly incomprehensible? It would be nice if this was fixed because this was an important segment of the presentation.

Yes the video is corrupted for that timeframe. A quick re-upload will fix it, but if the original file is corrupted, it cannot be fixed.
