Escamillo gets killed by the bull. In the short novel the character was Lucas who is only a picador. He is distracted by Carmen and his horse is toppled and it falls on him badly injuring him.

THIS is teaching at its best. Experiential and alive. By re-directing the student's attention to the experience of her body, maestra Gal accomplishes several pedagogical corrections simultaneously. Stunning. If Westminster had funding for their graduate students comparable to other schools I'd enroll immediately! I may email her and see if she'd be open to a lesson.

I wonder how long it took her to learn the words. I'm sorry; lame joke. Seriously, now, this is spectacular! The fine pitch control is tremendous. I've just listened to it 3 times in a row and I KNOW I have NOT heard all the detail yet. Many more hearings be required. (But not right now; must sleep, 1:30 Mon. morning here)

the pianist is having a real tough time with establishing tempo. For me this was hard to listen to because it just felt rythmically unstable throughout the whole performance. The voice was good, not great but the pianist was terrible and I think affected my ability to listen to this performance.
