I have always been of the opinion that you only need 3 stitches to in garment making. A straight stitch & sometimes a zig zag for wovens, and a modified zig zag for knits and very stretchy fabrics. A button hole attachment is nice if you are not comfortable with manual button holes. All the rest of those fancy stitches just go to waste with me which is why I prefer my vintage Singer 403A with cams. Maybe one day I will elevate my equipment.

Watching someone else sew up a beautiful garment is (almost) as gratifying as sewing it up myself. I like to watch when I am unable to get into my own sewing mojo as it seems to inspire me towards creation.

VERY nicely done! Those who don't sew don't understand all the time/skill that goes into a well made garment. So often customers want to low ball you on your labor costs saying "it's just a simple jacket, it can't possibly take that much time". Annoying.

I'm getting ready to start a new project that includes a similar embroidered mesh dress for a company Christmas party. I've been scared to try it, but your video was the best for this technique! I decided to subscribe, as I love watching you make such gorgeous garments. Thank you!

I love sew alongs and this one is an exceptional tutorial! It includes many “sewing efficiently” techniques I want to learn. Clear, concise commentary, without superfluous chatter which can be so annoying in others’ videos. Thanks so much Suzanne! I’m looking forward to a deep dive into all your videos 😊

Suzanne, I don't know if you will see this post but I wanted to tell you how much I've learned from your channel. You have to be so smart teaching yourself how to sew as beautifully and professionally as you do. You mentioned the book Pattern cutting made easy by Gillian Holmon and so I bought it...OMG it is the most incredible book for pattern cutting I have ever used. I have purchased so many books on pattern cutting and the book by Gillian Holmon is absolutely fantastic. I just finished a bodice block and I can't believe how she breaks everything down so nicely. It truly is pattern cutting made easy. I can't thank you enough for recommending that book. I never would have known about it had it now been for watching you channel. I hope you come back soon. I still binge watch your channel and love it. You are a great teacher.
