Clove oil is an excellent Antifungal. Just add one or two drops to your paint. But it is best to let your paint dry anyway to make sure you won't get any mold in your paint.

Now call the test paper No. 7 (White, Orange and Yellow) and go to Sotheby's. It should sell for around 200 million dollars. See similar work of Mark Rothko No. 6 (Violet, Green and Red).

I love that you use actual plant matter for reference, and we get to see what you see, as well as your passion. So many others are just copying photographs and it shows - flat & lifeless with nothing of the artist present. I hope to be as skilled as you, one day 🙂

Just a thought...and I haven’t yet thought this through, but what about using raw honey as an anti fungal agent when making paints from ochre??
@tinovanderzwanphonocave5446 жыл бұрын
a lot of indigenous people use only the bare essentials and the most primitive form of making an ochre paint that stays put is using spit sounds disgusting but it works! most of the worlds cave art wouldn't exist without it! the second is eggwhite but this would only have been available in springtime

Helen Hi Helen This is wonderful to watch again! I note that you don't appear to wet the paper first, before you add the pigment And it would seem that you use a very wet application of you pigment, at a close match to the finished colour, straight onto the dry paper. Have I got this correct? The effect is fantastic and unique.

Some paints are grainy. Helen must have used and earthy grainy paint.

If you read the description of some colors from Daniel Smith, the info will mention if a particular color is granulating or not. It simply means when they grind the organic pigments, some colors leave visible particles on the paper. Of course, it's best to stick with professional grade watercolors.
