Coils will lose your spark after you shut it off wind warm, a cracked spark plug when heated expands the crack and will actually spark through the porcelain, causing a misfire or it’s got a bad gas cap

Why is that?
@vinmandich77563 күн бұрын
The gears don't need grease just the. Hex shaft why grease a coated gear that is open air also dynamic cut teeth if a gear is not high load ,speed,and kept clean there is no need for grease reason why when you get it has none on it do you think these engineers don't know what there doing 🤔 it's a friction system if they wanted grease on it would be sealed away from the friction disk . Don't use grease at all use 3 in one or 30 weight engine oil on a rag so not to have fling off onto your friction disc . Why would we not want grease or oil on our FRICTION DISC just saying

You did not show installing the broken gasket on the bowl but I am sure you replaced it with a new one that again was not shown. Another key point you missed was you need to remove the pressed in L shaped gas feed fitting from the carb. because it conceals a fuel filter screen in the carb you will see when you remove the elbow. Learned that from Donnyboy!

Needed to stop by and say that it is late November 2024 and your video helped this complete small engine newbie get his snowblower working. I guess this means that small engines are easier to fix that computers. MANY thanks again for reminding us not to be intimidated. Keeping all of the parts in the same layout was very helpful. Is gas freely flowing from the gas tank to the carburetor? Maybe something is blocking the line. If plenty of gas is getting to the carburetor then something is still clogged in the carburetor.
@joshjones63024 күн бұрын
Thank you for this video . I just put on a new carburetor on my toro 518 ze and she fired right up . The oil smelled like gas, so that tip you gave was a huge key to me figuring out what to do. I didn’t bother cleaning the old one bc I can get new ones rather cheap. So I just went that route. I’m not super mechanically inclined but I’ve done enough work on vehicles over the years that I thought I’d give this a try . Your video and knowledge helped guide me thru the process . Thank you very much ! This is def a do able diy job . Just set aside a day where you have time and then take your time and get it done .

Unless im missing something, mine looks just like this and its much easier to unbolt the upper pulley and take the belt off. You dont have to go thru all that. I mean maybe yours is different but it looks like thats all you have to do.

Is it ok to tip it over like this? Wont the gas and oil spill out of the caps?
@small_engine_repair10 күн бұрын
You may get some gas dripping from the gas cap depending on how full the tank is. Otherwise I have not had oil leak.
Күн бұрын
This is the preferred method by the manufacturer and pros as to the position to service this area. Just make sure your oil caps are on nice and tight and there won’t be an issue there. If your gas tank is greater than half full, and you don’t want to drain the tank, take the gas cap off and place a sandwich bag for example over the gas tank hole and screw the gas cap back on tight and that way no gas will leak through the cap. Also, do not follow the procedure you here, look for my other comment on here as to perform this maintenance correctly. ps. When you’re done, don’t start your blower immediately, let the oil settle back down to the bottom of the engine and then you’ll be all set.

What size spark plug socket is needed for this engine? I've tried all of my long sockets and none are big enough and the stupid manual just says "use a spark plug socket"

Once the plastic is back on the stem should be in the center of the hole. Is it not?
