Hello. For the coupling capacitor calculation, shouldn't be considered the output impedance of the driver stage, besides the leak resistor..? thanks!

Howdy. Great. Looking at the spec.s I observe the 12AY7 is more linear than 12AX7, though less raw gain. This is pretty much what I have been looking for. I should think it is more stable than 12AX7 with strong neg. feedback. Regards.

Skunkie, This DAC Amp Head Amp does not have an Amp or feedback loops hence it does not have A, AB, D etc. Amp classes, it is claimed to be a top notch quality sound reproducer, using a headphone adapter it can drive headphones too. Can you do a review of it? It would be of great help to Audiophile comunity as well as to the advancement of the indistry. I am up and running! Needed the .25A slow blow. Ran into a dead channel but think it was a cold solder joint on one of the terminals. I'm using tungsols 12ax7s and this is a night and day upgrade from my bellari vp130. I'm officially all pure tube. Sounds insane. If it takes a half hour to sound good Im in for a real treat. Curious even once these tubes break in. Thank you again for these videos and your support building! The chassis work which i was fearful about was honestly really easy with the tools u recommended. Could probably build one now with my eyes closed. Thanks Stephe!

Howdy. The neg. feedback by the resistor between the anodes is interesting. I would assume good results have been observed. That is, however, not how I would do. I would use the resistor summing principle. The way done here I would say is a transconductance modulation of the input triode by modulating its anode voltage. Best Regards.
@SkunkieDesignsElectronics2 күн бұрын
It's mostly local feedback back into the grid of the output tube. I know some people do not like this type of feedback, I've found it works well on a single ended UL amp and avoids the circuit being tuned to a very specific brand/model of output transformer.

From back when safety was of absolutely no concern to industrialists.
@adamphillips12632 күн бұрын
Safety wasn't as high a concern because people had more common sense back then. One HAD to develop sense or one would die an early death - that's why sense became common. Now, people are not very concerned for their safety because they think the engineers have idiot-proofed everything.
@johnsmith1474Күн бұрын
@@adamphillips1263 - Wrong, people had absolutely no more common sense then than now. Safety was of no interest because workers had no rights, and safety costs money. You are completely naive, no clue about sociology or the nature of industrial development.

Hey you're a lot of fun as a reviewer and I'm probably the 10,000th person to say this but it really is refreshing to see a woman enjoying the hobby. First time viewer. So, there are a couple of things about subwoofers that I don't want to mansplain too badly about, but there's some indication that your experiences might be enhanced if you make a couple of adjustments: (I'll insert a line break so you can just cruise right on by this comment if you want. Hah,.) First, you said, "I like to have my subwoofer in the general vicinity of my speakers so that the sound is coming from roughly the same place." If you can tell that there is sound coming from your subwoofer, specifically -- meaning, if you can point to it with your eyes closed -- then your low pass is set too high. You should never be able to locate the sound coming from your subwoofer, regardless of where it is in the room. Subwoofers are meant to be sensed more than heard. Second, you said that your main system got muddy when you added the Elac but that says to me that you're not splitting the signal -- which in a system with its own low-end capabilities, is a must. The main benefit of a subwoofer is *not* the subwoofer itself, it's that the main amplifier doesn't have to thumb-wrestle with the main speakers to make the low frequencies. If you're not splitting the signal before it gets to the main speakers (and there are several ways to do this, some of which are cheap and cheerful and others of which are ... not), then you're losing most of the benefit of having a subwoofer. This explains why the Elac sounded so much better in the second system: Neither the second system's amp, nor the second system's speakers, were trying to produce those frequencies to begin with. Anyhoo, bravo for being willing to put yourself out here in the not-always-very-nice KZbin universe. I'm going to have a long browse on your channel now and probably binge a few more vids. :-)
