I'm glad to hear that you don't think Norway deserved all our last places. This really was the decade of Norwegians poor results, and it will continue until 1985... But yes, for most of these songs, you can see why they get last place.

Oh God, the German song! It's so horrible it becomes awesome! It's a joke entry done well. Definitely the most well-known song from this contest, though the winning song is also very good and popular.

Yeah, this is not a strong year, which makes it even more surprising that "Mil etter mil" gets last place! I mean, it's not a winning song, but there are so many boring songs... I like the winning song though, Israel's song is another favourite of mine. The Swedish song sounds a lot like the other songs this year, the only difference is that I understand the lyrics. Not a fan.

The Austrian song is weird, and made me wonder if Australia had joined the show 40 years early. Maybe that was what they were trying to say, stop confusing Austria with Australia... And how dare you flop Anita Skorgan! :P You keep complaining about songs sounding like nursery rhymes, but when the song has the title of an actual nursery rhyme, then you like it? Frere Jacques is the French version of "Fader Jakob" or "Broder Jakob" in Swedish ;) "Rock Bottom" is one of my least favourites from this year, it lives up to it's name. The female singer is awful. I can't believe you actually flipped a song that has *both* singers behind the piano Lennart. Is this the year you go against all of your principles? :P Beatles is one of the weird songs from Sweden. Not a good song to return to the competition with... Lapponia is one of my absolute favourites though! I wish it would have won! The French winner is just another french chanson... One of the better ones, yes, but not as good as Lapponia!

I noticed for the first time, Anne Karine Strøm holds the sunglasses. Why does she even have them, it doesn't fit the rest of the costume? Brotherhood of man is also a good song, but I agree that it can get tiring after a while. But either way, it is on my Eurovision playlist! As for Israel, Emor shalom means "speak peace" and I like how it speaks of Israel's desire to just live in peace. Other than that, so many boring songs this year. Many typical songs, few that stands out. Though the Finnish song does stand out, it doesn't stand out in a good way...

I love how Malin Åkerman used the line from the winner this year as an example of memorable lyrics :P I also love the German song this year, and I suspect it is a subtle hint towards a wish for a bridge between east and west Germany. And Norway clearly stuck with members of the Bendik Singers for the years we were allowed to sing in English, but they never managed to do very well...

You know, any other year, I would have been amazed that Olivia Newton-John didn't win. Just like with Clifff Richards. But not this year. This is the year of ABBA and nothing could stand against them!

Am I the only one who thinks Anne Marie David looks like Jorja Fox? Though I suppose it is the other way around, since Fox was in CSI about 30 years after this aired. Ever since I first saw this clip, I can only see Sara Sidle from CSI.

This video, and the '72 one tells me that ABBA wasn't quite as revolutionary as I was led to believe. There were many groups or duos that had similar styles and even somewhat similar sound. But of course, with ABBA there is a x-factor that makes them all the more above the rest, most of whom are forgotten except for the Eurovision nerds...

This was a strong year :) Looking forward to next year, when Norway will finally come to Eurovision :) Many firsts this year. First time a country won for the second time, and the first of many second places to the UK :P

Ah, 2016. The year of Petra Mede and Måns Zelmerløv. The year no Nordic country qualified from the semi's, leaving us only with Sweden. But it was also the year that gave us the best opening number ever (in semi 2) not to mention the now famous interval act "Love, love, peace, peace" which was arguably better than any of the other songs!

This song is a bit strange. I agree that it's happy sounding, but the lyrics is a bit strange. She sings how she would like to be caressed by the other person. I was surprised to see that she moved around during the music parts. I thought that wasn't allowed in early Eurovision... Skibet skal seile i nad is a wonderful song though! Well deserved 3rd place, I have seen others placing it as their winner.

First thought: Why is he wearing sunglasses indoors? Is he from the Matrix? Or is he blind? Second thought: This is such a boring song. His 92 song was marginally better...

This is one of those songs that would probably be a lot better if I understood what they're singing. I'm looking forward to when you go through the 90's Eurovisions. So many "interesting" songs there, and some absolutely great ones!

"Sobe, sobe, balão sobe" means "Rise, rise, balloon rise" and it's a classic evergreen in Portugal, a song that everyone knows to this day. The song that came 2nd "Eu só quero" ("I just want") also became well known 30 years later after being covered by Rita Guerra (ESC 2003). And yes Gabriela Schaaf is half-Swiss, hence the German name. ;)

Ugh, this song from Norway deserved the last place. So boring! One of the worst we've ever sent. Bucks Fizz is a good winner though, and I love the Danish song.

I love Norway's entry this year, it is among my top 10 best Eurovision songs we've ever sent! The German song is better if you don’t watch the creepy mimes behind her... The Dutch song is also great. Hard to forget the winner this year, though I like his other winning song better...

1981 Finn Kalvik deserved 0 points, for an absolutely pointless song. Though the same could be said for other Norwegian songs... As for the rest of the songs that got 0 points deserved it. 1983 Spain sounds awful, I don't understand why you like that. It is one of the worst Eurovision song I've heard...

You are the first to talk about the booing sincerely that i heard. Thanks for that. I agree that the whole booing thing is childish, and rude. As for the netherlands dq, Ill wait for the truth before commiting to an opinion. But i will note that he is not the only rude contestant in this eurovision. Politics has gone too far by the esc artists.

About the booing: I honestly liked it when the whole audience booed when Østermalm came on screen. It was deserved after the chaos in the hours. I absolutely agree about the ABBA tribute, it was awful and all wrong. I loved the interval act in semifinal 2 and that is what I am expecting when Sweden (and Petra) hosts. When you have three Eurovision legends singing Waterloo, you don’t need some stupid AI pictures! Show video from the 74 final, you don't need anything else. And who the heck is that other band? I've never heard of them before, was that supposed to be funny? If so, they were om stage for too long... Loreen was awful. Nuff said. I think our song (ulveham) got drowned by other, similar but better, songs, but the 4 points from the people still felt like a stab to the heart 💔
