Trading one addiction for another (consumerism) becoming a slave. Turns out the younger generation is now choosing something else.

Underworld (the electronic duo that made Born Slippy - Nuxx, which plays during this scene) are so goated for this track. There's kinda a funny contrast between the bombastic big beat instrumental with nonsensical lyrics and Renton's final speech. Really encapulates the absurdism of choosing life in a modern world.

I can relate to some of the characters, like Katherine where, i have parents that have neglected me, even scott, I've been molested by my cousin before which is why i always feel less of a human, and i can relate to auggie where he fails all his class bc i also failed close to all my classes since I'm in special ed, lastly i can relate to Shelby, all she wants is a hug from someone and i have to, she felt like no one cared about her, that's how i feel a lot of the time. Lastly i can relate to daisy bc I've been verbally abused which explains why I'm a sensitive person, I've been told to stop being so sensitive, and stop being so serious when I'm just expressing how i feel.😢

The ending to this movie always makes me want to get clean - entirely. Its amazing how accurately it portrays addiction, in the beginning you say fuck life all I need to be happy is to be high, but eventually you get to the point where a normal life is all you want, you want all those things you thought were bullshit. I swear to god I'll get it one day.

He makes life sound shit. No wonder people turn to heroine. I never looked at life this way. Tended to dodge the mundanities. As such, not driven to drugs.

The fact is that drug addicts are as much a part of the consumer system as anyone else - they're just fixated on a single product.
