How did it go from that to basically just a prostitution ring. By the way there is nothing counter culture about prostitution, its gone mainstream, every judge,politician and cop is fucking a hoe. And now it's the base line entrance prerequisite. Wtf hapoened. It's all about objectifying women while blowing smoke up their ass. All lies fake compliments and lust. The modern hippie movement is killing love and replacing it with lust.

I have never heard from anyone that the hippies from the 70s, probably the people you were talking to her already stoned! And I swear I have never heard anybody telling me from the 70s we all know it was from the 1965 to 1969. The only solution I have is the people you were speaking to probably from the 80s and above.

There is this super deep dive into the quiet luxury and it’s ties to the ultra right movement, Christianity core resurgence and new super wealthy tech bros neighborhoods in Texas by Lina Ninsevich, she’s a former editor of Russian Vogue if I remember correctly. God I wish you to could collaborate

What’s the video called? I’d love to watch. I think it’s absolutely fair to say there can be a link between those movements - just like there can be a link between the 2020 DIY natural movement and the far left. However, while movements happen in culture, I think there’s a large moderate population that often gets ignored because the internet noise comes from the most extreme.

@@nicoletalksfashion your last sentence is actually a great take, I also remember this thing in sociology, that we start to talk about certain wrongs when said wrongs are actually declining. Please correct me if I’m wrong. The video is called «Тихая роскошь: что не так с главным трендом 2023?»

A LESSON ON AVANT GARDE: A lot of people think avant garde as the high fashion unusual looks… but avant garde is actually very contextual. Really, it’s about making opposing statements to the status quo. For example, in the context of going for brunch - this is absolutely not avant garde. But wearing pink everything in professional spaces? Yeah that’s saying something.💗

If Lil Nas is supposedly so popular, why is he always the least seen? This is just Satan's Minion struggling to get any attention he can! Karl Lagerfeld designed beautiful fashions! This is disrespectful and tasteless. Lil Nas is simply reflecting the no class, bling-bling Ghetto look. Sorry, I didn't recognize the toilet look Lil Nas has perfected both in fashion and taste!
@nicoletalksfashion
@nicoletalksfashion Жыл бұрын
It can be argued lil nas is also embodying category 3 (the essence) as he uses motifs like pearls and crystals within the makeup, but I think he’s much stronger in this category because of the context of his look. 🖤 Hope you guys enjoyed x

I think most figures embody the “merged ideas” category, and I notice analysts tends to gravitate towards those looks as they may see aspects of themselves more clearly OR they absolutely live for the “anti” statements. But just wait until we unpack category 7…the absolute rejection 😂

Also many of these embodiments can make social statements on not just Karl and society, but personal alignment, too. For example, Kim is definitely conscience of being aligned as a symbol. She’s also referencing a playboy shoot she did in the past, so it’s in a way like a triple entendre of embodiment: karl as a symbol maker of pearls, the symbols made through institutions, and herself as “the ultimate” male gaze (or perhaps beauty standard)

i love this video so much, it’s a refreshing change of pace from roasting the met looks (which has become an annual tradition tbh) which i feel people forget that theres a lot of work and decisions made before we get to see the artist’s final red carpet appearance. whether they look ‘plain’ or ‘flashy’, there’s always a statement to be made because fashion is laden with politics. unfortunately i think people really only care about the outfits that make the most noise, the flashiest and the biggest gowns mostly, and tend to critique ones that look ‘flat’ on the wearer’s body. i also have to admit that i was once in the position of someone who, more than wanting to roast the looks, was mostly just confused about how they tied in with the theme. this is why your video helped a lot, because it broke down the theme in the simplest way! i hope you can turn this into a series where you talk about next year’s met gala or even discuss the previous ones (i especially love the 2019 theme of camp which caused a lot of controversy and was overall just divisive). great video as always and can’t wait for more! 🤍
