I love the frizz. I don't think I ever felt anything softer than my just conditionned frizzy roots. I never washed my hair so often than when I got locs. I just love that feeling under my fingers. Hence why I don't do my root more than three times per year. I'm definitely getting a brush like that. Thank you. 🥰

I just wanted to say, i was just recommended your video for short loc hair styles and kept saying to myself "her locs are so beautiful." After that i looked and saw you have videos of your locs now and they are gorgeous here as well! They grew out so nicely and i would love if yoy could make a video on loc maintenance. ❤

Nope! Personally, I haven’t experienced any thinning at all; only condensing. In fact, the parts that have been interlocked are the MOST solid parts of my locs.

Do you have a loc journey video? I was looking through your old videos to see the transition but it seems you either started them multiple times or the videos are uploaded out of order over time. Can you tell us how you got here with pics? I’m only 8 months in and I want to have a healthy journey. I don’t know if I need ti combine locs or start over hence why I’m interested in seeing your journey and others.

I think people mean ‘compact’ or ‘constricted’ not ‘thinning’ when they say interlocking makes locks thin. As in interlocked locs will be skinnier than retwisted locs.

I heard another sister say something about itching post interlocking.i cant remember her solution tho. Some people put nothing on their scalp or do scalp scrubs. Not sure if thathelps.peppermint?tea trea diluted? Acv and baking soda. Lemon? Aloe?
@MargauxChanel
@MargauxChanel 2 ай бұрын
I recently started using a homemade blend of essential oils: peppermint, eucalyptus, thyme, tea tree, rosemary and jojoba as the carrier oil. Shake that all up in a small tipped bottle and apply that directly to my scalp whenever I do start to feel itching, which usually starts about a week to a week and a half post interlocking. Not sure why it always starts around that time, but I feel like it has to do with my scalp being exposed for a while, and the fact that I haven’t always oiled my scalp PRIOR to interlocking. Though I’ll definitely be using my oil blend going forward.

Ty for sharing. I started my own locs. I haven't done the interloc method yet, but I'm going to try it. I have about 80 locs. I did mine smaller. I love your thick locs and messy parts.
@MargauxChanel
@MargauxChanel 6 ай бұрын
You’re welcome, though I actually don’t have random “messy”parts. They’re all in a brick lay pattern (this was intentional), but since I started each locs section thicker than average, to the untrained eye you couldn’t tell. Also, they’re locs, so as they’re maturing, I’m not very concerned with keeping every part super straight, I’ll save that for the sister/micro loc girlies.

So I do my gfs hair and she has smaller parts. So before I did her hair, her mom would. And well you could tell the difference like mine starts thin and tight but her moms are thick. it’s not an obvious difference but more down to her roots it’s tight and more towards her ends it’s loose to a point that it’s spongy. basically the ends of her hair are as thick as yours so I’m asking like towards your roots are they thin and tight and then they just like get thicker or is there like a technique to it that I’m not doing she really likes the thick part and I don’t wanna deprive her of that, but we don’t have money to take her to loctictan.

I used to do a 4 point rotation but now do 2 because it’s faster
@MargauxChanel
@MargauxChanel 7 ай бұрын
Well mine are thicker and bumpier towards the ends because I started with two strand twists. And as far as my interlocked roots, yes, they are slightly slimmer than the rest of the locs due to condensing/compacting (the nature of interlocking), but overall interlocking hasn’t affected the size of my locs much, they’re still pretty thick.

I'm about to do mine. I have a Monroe right now. Question....what size is you bar? I'm curious because as a black woman my lips are thick so I worry about the standard size being too small. I've done my ears, nose, top lip and belly button myself and yes the piercing taper is a God send!! Nevermind.....I wasn't done watching your video when I asked my question. I bought a 12 mm bar cuz that little 10 mm is tiny. I had a lot of swelling on my top lip and I pierced with a 10 mm.
@MargauxChanel
@MargauxChanel 7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I bought a pack with multiple sized barbells specifically for when the swelling goes down. I also initially thought a 10mm would suffice but ran into the same issue of it being a little too short, so the 12mm was perfect for my lip size and the initial swelling.

😃You did an excellent job & it really suits you too😉. When you where driving in the car, l could see your lip looks really swollen.. 🙂when l did my own Medusa Piercing, as soon as l put the needle in my lip instantly started swelling & it was extremely painful ( even with the numbing cream ) it hurt like a b**ch. Especially for the 1st two weeks. It’s only now it’s starting to settle down. Due to already having health problems - I have a lot of very strong pain killers such as morphine on fentanyl patch. It has helped a lot with piercing pain. But my Medusa Piercing is actually the very last piercing. Mainly because body’s not coping with the extra pain. I love piercings. There’s so many l would love to try out. But l my current medical health can effect me..I body is struggling to cope with the piercing pain. I have alot the main piercings wanted - ear lobes, Helix, conch, both Nostrils, Medusa & navel piercing. So happy with those. I don’t regret any of them.

Your locs are so beautiful! I’m definitely considering interlocking. I workout a lot and sweat in my scalp so washes are often and it goes without saying; retwists don’t last. I self maintain and am only heading into my 3rd month locd. Thanks for the info.
@MargauxChanel

Same! I sweat a LOT when physically active and never wanted to be restricted to when I can or can’t wash my hair simply trying to preserve a retwist, so interlocking was the easily the best choice for me.
